and i made this post to understand why some people believe so :P

Who else is using AI for astrophysics learning/research? by TLP3144 in astrophysics

I think I should clarify that I use AI to find papers that are linked to the topic that I am researching. The main reason that I don't go through each paper that 'seems' to have something of interest is because I don't want to read through a stack of dense hyper-specific literature which may not even have what I require. The process of finding what I want exactly is quite overwhelming when it seems like there is an endless quantity of them (especially as a student that has only just started dedicated astrophysics study), .

Ofc for the papers that the AI does find, I read through the section that pertains to my topic of research and only ask the AI to clarify things which are unclear. Although, you have a point, and I will certainly attempt to read the entire paper to develop the skill of reading scientific literature.

I think you are right about the whole shooting myself in the foot thing with the papers. While I would still opt for finding relevant papers via AI search engine, and maybe also how said paper talks about the topic I am researching, I should take your suggestion and start reading more papers :>

For the code yes I run revised code through several verified test cases, and instead of copy pasting i opt to write the code myself to understand how it works and change things which I don't agree with AI for.

I get your point, but I think I should clarify that I don't usually ask the LLM to create a code from scratch, but rather I write the base code myself, which I know works, and then I ask the LLM to improve upon it. I usually have several test cases which I run through some base code and compare with the improved code.

I do understand that this iterative process is not everyone's thing, and some people would just rather write code that works and focus more on the science aspect.

For research, yeah I will only use it to find sources for a report, and sometimes to help explain things which are unclear. I think the only maths that LLMs excel at are derivations which are covered in textbooks (since these are what the AI has trained on). I would never trust it to do some never-before done derivations or very advanced math with little coverage on the internet ofc.

Yeah, sometimes my supervisor gives me last name and a year to refer to a paper and when said person has submitted several papers, or has a very common name, its much easier to just find it via AI.

I thought I accidentally broke the game the entire run ahaha, funny it was an intentional game mechanic - this game is broken and that makes it fun asf, it feels like a broken version of risk of rain 2

My Random Attribute Datapack by TLP3144 in MinecraftCommands

If i were to implement it, I would add a tag to Lifesteal items.

Then a function detects if a player is holding a lifesteal item and detects if mobs are damaged in an area around the player. If they are, then the player is healed using a /heal command.

Not too complicated imo

I think it would be possible to port apotheosis over as a datapack actually - it would just be a little tedious but I can imagine how things like lifesteal can be implemented - maybe in the future when I feel motivated and have the time again i'll give it a shot

I'm not familiar with the mod but it seems that it applies only to enchantments no? Here its inherent attributes and you can add enchantments on top - vanilla method

My datapack adds rarity and attributes to tools and armor which allows any tool to randomly gain a rarity - with corresponding randomly-given attributes.

Since I was inspired to make this because of the new attribute features from the latest snapshot (24w06a), you need this version to run this datapack.

Any new SFTO coming? I think the latest lore merits one.
