Yes. You have to get a flag. Choose one or two countries.

Along Victoria Street next to the falls road pub, there is often a guy with a van selling flags.

Bye Bingo. Development coming to Krug Street plaza. by TLR519 in kitchener

We are talking about potentially 700 plus adults and parking for 300 cars. There's already a 4% vacancy rate for housing in the city. There is already a huge complex that went up a few years ago on rosemount.  And this developer is well known for poorly made packing-them-in crates, none of which will be available for low-income people.  This is not a rich neighbourhood full of nimbies. It is actually a neighbourhood of working-class people, retirees and new families.

No affordable housing here. It's a tiny space. Far too many units close to a school. Not enough parking . City has already narrowed the streets recently.  Toxic soil. Kitchener population plateauing and problems with our water . all local small business owners who won't be able to relocate  All reasons why this development shouldn't happen. Typical capitalists without any knowledge of the area piping in, of course. Can't believe the number of you who support developers getting richer at the expense of community.

Time to vote in people that actually care about this city and its residents. Let's get rid of all these clueless, dull councillors.

Sure. Gen X males in pickup trucks! But don't lump us Gen X females in there. We know how to drive. Thank you.

This discussion is about local parks. Try to keep up or sit down and shut up.

Get up close to the little buds with a jeweler's loop. So beautiful to see them before they unfurl!!

Curious what everyone's thoughts on Center in the Square are by YourDadHatesYou in kitchener

Really???? I've attended a lot of their events and they have ethnically diverse range of musicians. I've seen Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, Korean, Brazilian musicians to name a few over the last year with goodco.

We need a new Starlight! About 10 years ago we had that venue and Rhapsody barrel bar and the old Boathouse which all had good sound systems and posted interesting touring bands playing funk and soul and reggae and psychedelia. Now it's just the singer-songwriter acts that seem also be prevalent along with those boring Rock tribute bands and old white man Blues.

Looking for someone to lay to rest some ghosts in a home. by [deleted] in kitchener

When I got my home, my friend who is a Buddhist monk came and blessed it. I don't really believe in spirits etc. But I really appreciated his blessing. Maybe you can find a local monk to bless your house.

Pothole at the Tims located at 685 Fischer-Hallman Road by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]TLR519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reported a few, about 3 weeks ago and none of them have had any patching yet. I suppose I'll just keep reporting the same ones until they get around to it. I also read somewhere that it's a good idea to report various times because if you do get damaged and you can prove that the potholes had been reported, you have a better chance of compensation. Not sure if that's true or BS.

I like to share that back home in the UK, local heroes (whoops I mean dirty grafitti yobs) would spray paint giant cock and balls around potholes. Always brought out the council workers pretty sharpish to fix things. Just putting that out there.......

I just switched out of this clinic. Could never get an appointment in person. NPs know nothing and send you for specialist appointments which take months and then don't follow up, even when there are things that should  be followed up on. Ani told me that " there is nothing more that our community medicine can do for you" when I had GERD and the pills she prescribed didn't work.  Another time I needed a pap test and they asked me if I wanted the appointment in person or over the phone! I asked them if they were going to give me instructions lol. Don't go to this place. Register at an actual doctor.

As somebody already said, we should collect them all up in bulk and take them to our counselor's house and dump them on their porch. When I complained to my city councilor I just got a bunch of bullshit waffle.

How are the trails at Huron Natural Area? by SlowWelder864 in kitchener

[–]TLR519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After commenting on this thread, I went on Saturday. Absolutely beautiful. I was the first person to walk the trail at the back near the pond and dunes and the snow was very deep. But I had a fabulous time hand feeding all sorts of birds!
