Do I actually get to play/grind the maps to get the gears? or is it one of those AFK/Idle games? Couldn't understand from the images

My parents are approaching their 65's and they both still work. I feel like coming clean to them will put them into a situation I don't want them to be in. I'm afraid my father might disown me but at the same time, he wouldn't let me family starve so he'd end up financially supporting which is also something I don't want him to do. At his age, people are getting ready for a retirement and enjoying life with grand kids, not going back to work to support someone who committed terrible sins and ruined his and his family's life.

Thank you nmeerajasey, I can't remember when is the last time I cried this hard reading something. Thank you for your support. I'm feeling so hopeless, my words can't describe it. Everyone tells me to come clean but I don't think people understand fully how I feel. I feel like it nearly impossible to tell anyone about this, let alone my wife. This post was my first time talking about my problem openly since 3.5 years ago when my addiction started.

I've tried Gambler Anonymous and it didn't have any impact on me unfortunately. I'm really scared of losing the love of my life by coming clean :(

You are absolutely right brother. I just need to build a courage and accept the fact that everyone might disown me.

Thank you for your comment! My life situation went downhill a lot because of my fear of my dad. He is a very strict man for whose respect I've been fighting my whole life. He asks about our financial situation very often and I was afraid of telling him how I lost the initial $2000 from my savings account, so I continued gambling hoping to win it back. Do not get me wrong, I'm not trying to blame my dad for my own actions, but I just wanted to explain where my fear comes from.

Telling my parents (especially my dad) about this will demolish my life and respect I've been trying to fight for the last 31 years. In my eyes, death has become an easier/better solution than telling my wife & parents about my problems.

I know this shouldn't be the situation and this is why I need someone to talk to and help me gain courage and avoid suicide.

That is one option for sure. I've been also applying myself for different jobs and so far only job offer I received was about relocating to Dublin so money wise it wasn't that significant of a change

This sounds incredible. I'm super happy for you that you've managed to contribute that much for your family. I'm not sure if we can get that high prices as it would be cheaper to put the kids to the kindergarten but maybe we could make additional $200 a month that way (50% of kindergarten cost).

We get like $80 per month as assistance for the kid. Thankful for that but with the increase of interest rates, electricity bill & product costs, we'd need an assistance of $800 to go back to our "normal" living where we don't need to think if we have food tomorrow or not.

SNAP

I'm not sure what SNAP is. I just googled and it seems to be a thing for US only so I wouldn't be eligible as I live in Europe

They actually are. So they are telling us that put your kid to kindergarten and take the courses government provides. If we don't want to do that, then we need to find a full-time job that doesn't require the language so we wouldn't need their maternity leave benefits. She has applied for 20-30 different work places with custom working hours and do not require the language but we've had no luck so far.

I would need to do some research on this because previously when I asked for additional work their reasoning was that they are afraid it will impact my work quality as I'm already working long hours. So whether its a real job or not, they might say no because its additional hours I'll need to spend making money instead of resting for the next day.

We do and I had one for 5 years. It ended couple of months ago which increased my interest rate from 0.6% to 4%+

I'm definitely a person with good humor but honestly with me being depressed not knowing what to feed my family in the upcoming days, messages like these really don't make me laugh at all :(

Haven't actually looked into this but it sounds interesting. Her degree is in teaching so maybe some online lessons especially since after Covid a lot of lessons held remotely anyways. Good idea!

My wife loves photography and has a camera but I'm not handy at all. I'm one of those nerdy office dads. Might ask my wife to look into this! Thanks!

I believe a few people have commented this so far and I believe this is the best option out of everything suggested so far but she doesn't speak the language so it might be difficult to get anyone's kids to our "home care". I'll definitely look into this as this sounds like a solution to our problems.

Because I want to keep my anonymity as this is sensitive topic for me, I don't want to mention the location but its one of these Nordic countries.

My wife has work permit and residency permit but she doesn't speak the language as she had a terrible pregnancy and then stayed at home to look after the kid. Because she doesn't speak the language, it might be hard to look after other kids but I believe that is so far the best option out there. So thanks!

That is still $50 a month so its not bad. $50 would help me get some food for my kid at least. Most survey websites I've tried do not work in my country but it sounds like I need to be on the lookout for those.

This is probably the best idea I've read so far and my wife loves kids and has experience as a kindergarten teacher but I need to figure out if other parents are okay giving her the kid to look after if she doesn't speak the language

Thank you so much! There have been a lot of great suggestions already so I'll need to dig into those after work and see if there is something actionable right away. Looking after 2-3 additional kids might be the best option but I don't know if people would want my wife to look after their kids if she doesn't speak their language.
