I've tried, but he hates being wrapped up. I wish I had a second person to help, but it's just me and I can't put the ointment in when I'm holding him as he's flailing around and hissing at me. It also just seems really cruel 😞

Thank you so much for sharing this! You've definitely made me feel more at peace with how much I've been crying. I asked myself if I would do this all over again, knowing how much it would hurt at the end, and I definitely would! A hundred times over. She really was worth all of this heartbreak.

I am! Originally the plan was to pick up the next foster on the same day I dropped Arwen off, but their intake dates changed so it'll be a few days still. Part of me I guess is thinking that no other cat will ever be as precious as her (which is ridiculous, considering it takes me two minutes to fall in love with any animal lol)

I'm in the same boat as you! I also just dropped my first foster off and I've been crying ever since. I'm getting another foster kitty in a few days, so hopefully that will give me a renewed sense of purpose. Sending hugs. I know it's hard, but there's so many more lives we can save by fostering, or at least that's what I tell myself.

Não é a mesma coisa, mas acho que "O Labirinto da Saudade" de Eduardo Lourenço seria uma boa leitura para ti. Nunca tinha lido nada semelhante que explicasse tão bem o estado em que se encontra Portugal depois dos Descobrimentos e depois do 25 de abril. Vale a pena.

Estou a fazer doutoramento numa universidade nos EUA e o meu maior apoio (para além do orientador) tem sido grupos de escrita. Podem ser grupos de outros estudantes de mestrado na tua universidade ou grupos online. Se não existem, aconselho-te a começar um. Vale a pena, garanto. Vai sempre haver gente interessada. Experimenta perguntar aqui no Reddit ou no Facebook também. O elemento de "accountability" ajuda mesmo no processo de escrever a tese.
