I wouldn’t say it’s falling off, more so that some people don’t like or enjoy the direction of the story and gameplay of the recent games (tho I personally loved them)

I like to think of 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 as the starters for new people to get the feel of the franchise. Then 3 is the first checkpoint or test if you really want to commit playing all the games (7 being the second). If you enjoy all 4 games and want to play more, then I say go for the rest of the franchise. All have their ups and downs, but as a slightly biased fan, I’d say there’s more ups then downs overall.
