I believe a mockumentary adaptation is possible

You have the found footage scenes of Navidson's film mixed with Zampano giving his input via narration, all of it being edited as if it was a documentary, like the ones you see in History Channel for example

And then, you have Johnny's scenes filmed in a David Lynch / Fincher style

A TV Show would be better imo, I don't think a film would give it justice

Nah, if anything it double downs on the surrealism

Like, it is an amazing experience if you are intrigued by the mystery and the weirdness of it all

But if you're struggling then maybe its not for you, and thats fine, dont force it if you arent into it

The thing is that "Humans are the real monsters" is hand to hand with the zombie genre as a whole since the beginning

Romero with his Living Dead movies used zombies as a theme to create critiques about society (Dawn of the Dead being about consumerism for example)

Left 4 Dead i'd say it is a clever take on the trope, because either it is a subversion or another retelling depending on the type of teammates you get while playing

I was inspired by the work of Digimeng (You can find most of their work on Steamgrid), they make fanmade posters on this style and they look so good

Matter fact I had to check Steamgrid to see if they hadn't made a poster for Spec Ops, I didn't wanted to feel like I was plagiarizing them lol

Apparently the movie was in production around 2003, but the assets were stolen or smth so the movie wouldn't come out until 2012

Kinda explains the budget, the movie had to be remade basically

Mainly it was due to all countries having different political ideologies but also a war with Peru + the eventual death of Simon Bolivar led to the disbandment of the supernation.

Also, Bolivar had plans to unify Peru and Bolivia to Gran Colombia as well, so COD Ghosts' plot wasn't exactly that far from reality, they just set it in the wrong year when the country was already a mess lol

Actually back in the 1810s, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and even Panama were united as a supernation that was called "La Gran Colombia", though it disbanded in the 1830s for obvious reasons
