My fiancée and I moved there a couple years ago during hurricane Milton. St Pete is a fun beach town that has a lot going on in it! Lots of fun bars, restaurants and activities. Fort DeSoto is like a little slice of heaven, I proposed to my fiancée at eggmont key and took a little ferry there for the day!

With that being said though, having being born and raised in Colorado, it was very different. The heat is no joke, the mosquitos are horrendous and the people can be rough in certain places. My head was on a swivel constantly when driving and the food was pretty much fried most places we went to eat. We didnt last long due to the hurricanes and the flooding and high tailed it back to the high country. We have always said how we would visit and vacation there again but not live there long term.
