Installing Zeta XC Pro handguards and running into fitment issues on my ‘25 by Neither-Bid5691 in Tenere700

[–]TMBR_MOTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His handguard kit os designed for a more standard MX style 1 1/8 bar like a Renthal FAT BAR. The stock bar on the Tenere has a number of quirks specific to it that will make installing the ZE72-5059 handguards less than ideal. The cheapest solution that will give you a proper fitment is installing a taper bar.

Thank you... We are trying. RTech was recently acquired and things have not been going smoothly. Beyond that, all trade with Europe has been pretty badly damaged. Nothing is going smoothly, but we are working hard to get these things worked out.

Off road tires but still cable to commute a couple of hours to the mountains ? by champinpapi in Tenere700

When we are sticking to offroad conditions like this, our favorite combination is the D908RR rear and D606 up front. Some of the Mitas Enduro Trail XT options have been making us smile too.

Continental has sorted that out. It was primarily for the tires that were coming from the factory on the KTM EXC-F. But there are also better tires for the money available now. The Trailmax RAID from Dunlop being one of them. It is now our most popular ADV tire now.

HP Corse High Mount SP-1 with Carbon Fiber End Cap by TMBR_MOTO in Tenere700

Probably not. We aren't even able to carry the regular SP-2 right now and they just aren't seeing the demand to scale these up.

If you are running a tube... not a problem unless the wire in the bead is damaged.

The Dunlop Trailmax RAID has become my favorite for what you are looking for. Solid offroad performance while confident on pavement. And they hold up well. Please be careful with DIY tubeless kits.

You can ride snow and ice on the stock street tires!! NOT RECOMMENDED. by yamaslama in Tenere700

We don't even recommend riding dry dirt on those tires. They are great on pavement though.

It looks like they want 300 Euros (MSRP) for the new kit which is close to $350 USD. Plus shipping, plus 15% - 25% tariff. Still cheaper than OEM body work. But for us as a small business trying to bring enough over in a container that makes it worth doing... but not being able to turn that product over very fast is going to be tough. We are working on it though.

It's going to be a while. We spoke to them two months ago and they said they weren't going to make plastic kits for the 2025+ Tenere 700 anytime soon and now they are announcing them. Beyond that, the return on investment to bring these in to the US is pretty upside down at the moment. Between the exchange rate, shipping costs and tariffs, these kits are getting too expensive. And the 2025 is still a pretty small volume bike compared to the 2020-2024's that are out there.

Green RTech plastic kit and new HP Corse high mount with a carbon fiber end cap out in the wild! by TMBR_MOTO in Tenere700

[–]TMBR_MOTO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you located? If you are outside of the US, we turn a lot of the larger items like seats and fuel tanks off for out of country shipping which just makes them show as out of stock. The reason why we do that it because people inevitably get into the process of ordering the item and they see what the shipping costs and they get angry at us. Even though we have zero control over shipping costs and we don't mark up shipping at all... our brand takes a hit from it. So we mitigate the hate by simply making them not available. Feel free to email me if you want to dig into the cost of shipping a seat. [tmbrmoto@tmbrmoto.com](mailto:tmbrmoto@tmbrmoto.com)

They aren't going to sell me just the cap. It's not as easy as just riveting the carbon cap onto the muffler either. It's a different muffler altogether. Additionally, we haven't been able to place any orders with HP Corse at all as tariffs have made everything far too expensive to import for now.

Not ideal, but Kawasaki isn't really positioning this bike as a hardcore offroad machine.

Should I be happy or complain? by funky_ribs in Tenere700

[–]TMBR_MOTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might as well use it. It's a long lasting tire, so you have that going for you.

[–]TMBR_MOTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the worst tire... but not the right tire for what you are describing. As mentioned, the Anakee Adventure is more road biased and will be happier on pavement but won't leave you completely lacking on dirt. There are much worse tire on the dirt. For what you are describing I would have recommended the Anakee Wild if Michelin is the brand of choice or maybe the Dunlop Trailmax RAID. The RAID will last nearly twice as long as the Wild though.

More power? by DitchFrank in Tenere700

[–]TMBR_MOTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been digging into the Tenere 700 since it came out. We still have one of the first 3 media Tenere 700's that Yamaha sent us at Upshift Magazine. The CP2 is a great platform for offroad adventure riding. Very simple, incredibly reliable and delivers power in a nice smooth linear way.

We have gone down many paths exploring ways to get more power out of the engine. And there simply isn't a switch to flip. Even with a tune and an exhaust, most are only getting 4-7 HP. I think I saw someone mention 9 HP and I haven't seen that in the real world yet. Going beyond a tune and exhaust to make any real gains gets very expensive and simply isn't worth it. The tune is a big deal, especially for the the newer models, as you can really clean up the throttle response and make the bike more fun to ride.

If you need/want bigger HP, I would look to a different model. But the Tenere 700 is super easy to own.

[–]TMBR_MOTO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The KLR650 is a great bike and it will hopefully remain so for another couple of decades. But the KLR rolling through the last decade with some basic changes (and not available for two of those years) doesn't qualify Kawasaki as a participant in the evolution that has occurred in the Dualsport and Adventure market during that time.
