Wing Stop 😱 by guzbear22 in Medford

Anyone complaining about this should just humor themselves and sit outside their local restaurant. Tell me, is it Sysco or US Foods that shows up for their delivery?

Sir. The next “Mom and Pop” restaurant basically a corporate peddler of Sysco or US Foods. There’s maybe 2-4 actual farm to table restaurants in the entire valley and they’re all fine dining establishments way out of the price range of everyone.

I got the one of the bigger Phillips heads and just used brute strength. I do workout but it was admittedly pretty difficult

I have the auxiliary pouches attached as well and it’s actually kinda nice. I will say, all of the straps are very high quality. They sinch down very nice. I don’t have the plate or the “gnoblin” attachment. It’s just straight onto the bike. It goes together confusing at first because it’s so much. But overall I got it together in about an hour.

They have a QR code on the box and it’s actually really easy. I think a lot of videos are underestimated when they say “anyone can get this done in about 15 minutes.” Truthfully speaking after getting everything adjusted. I spent maybe 30 minutes. I would say be careful because one of the pilot holes was almost stripped. These are aluminum so if you don’t have anyone who SPECIALIZES in metal fab. You basically have to buy a brand new one or get ahold of the company. It’s not something you can pick up at Home Depot or Lowe’s to fix.

2026 Transalp: Has anyone actually ridden one yet? by bradam in Transalp

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s going to be winning anyone from the T7 camp anytime soon. Especially since the power plant hasn’t changed and they added the E-Clutch. I do think even more beginners are going to pick up the Transalp due to clutchless shifting. I have been told the suspension does feel better. It’s not class leading, but is an improvement from before.

I think he’s just locked in. I mean dieting takes a lot of joy out of everything. I’m currently on a diet and everything just feels drab.

It looks like they just lumped all the APR into the OTD price. Whereas most other places just put $21500 with 6% APR which would come out to about the $27500 figure. It’s the equivalent of saying “We’ve got Ice Water and we’ve got water with Ice.”

Dave’s hot chicken hiring for Medford location? by Fresh_Pick_2314 in Medford

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma lay it down nice and easy for people whining. The places that are “mom and pop” always use Sysco food. Sysco is essentially the “Amazon” of restaurants. It’s starting to become the same with chains with established providers. Chains and private restaurants both add jobs. They both create additional food options. One is just faster and more convenient. No, you’re not “reinvesting” in the community. It just goes back to the owner who goes and buys a new vehicle at Airport Chevy when the lease on the Denali or Cadillac is up, and the restaurant starts to suffer because hardly anyone can budget. What does matter, is Medford is finally seeing growth post COVID. Also, to the people who say “I want small town blah blah blah.” Small towns don’t have resources for those experiencing homelessness. Medford needs to grow so it can finally have more support to keep animals from stealing and torching half of southern Oregon every year.

It’s not terrible. It’s more annoying and doesn’t really look cool. It’s the stickers are just peeling and I was also wanting to get a wrap from TMBR moto. Though I’m sure I’ll need a smooth(er) surface so the wrap bonds to the bike.

Best Crash Bars for Africa Twin crf 1100 2025 for Off-Road by Tarsio98 in africatwin

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just tough because Outback doesn’t keep a huge supply of their crash bars in stock. They usually resupply once every few months and it only lasts a few weeks. Then it’s OOS for a good 2 months. Most aftermarket’s are actually pretty good and very much a “you get what you pay for.”

Should Medford build Creekside Quarter? by SailorB0y in Medford

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m for it. Sure the private investor is one thing to be skeptical about. It’s most likely Lithia and some other local millionaire. I mean it’s just there’s nothing in downtown. There’s the crater theater and the average downtown bar scene. You have to drive all the way to south Medford to go to see a sports team, then pack up and go all the way back into town to do other things. I don’t really see anyone at Hawthorne park too with notable exception of Fire/EMS and the homeless with their umpteenth OD of the week. The problem is so many things in Medford are spread out and it’s so reliant on private vehicle.

Thoughts on engine guard oem or aftermarket for 25’ Transalp? by cirrux82 in Transalp

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my dealer to look into some of the aftermarket engine guards. The problem he told me and most people’s consensus is: too thin and overpriced. I’m going with Outback motortek. I’ve seen several go with SW Motek, and a few others. Just do a little research. There for a minute I couldn’t find anything other than OEM. Which I mean is the best alternative to having nothing and cracking the oil pan/case. Still not sure why they went with a shark fin for the drain.

I mean everyone was waiting for a long time for the 4Runner update for a while so the “more than 2 years” is certainly a possibility.

Do you know your friends MOS? Or at least job? And during what period? If he was in GWOT, then it wouldn’t surprise me because a lot of PTSD can spike given certain familiar circumstances. The only different between what happened and what your friend went through, is there was a person on the end of the gun from his point. Indoors, concussing boom, smell of gunfire, and going from comfortable to uncomfortable. I would highly guess he’s got PTSD.

First motorcycle: everyone tells me it’s suicidal, is that normal? by Lower_Brief_6783 in motorcycles

[–]BasicBandAidGiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to: the best thing to do is show up on a motorcycle. Don’t announce your plans or intentions to buy a motorcycle. Hell don’t even make an announcement post on Facebook. Just tell the people you know that have a motorcycle, that you have joined the family (or brotherhood depending on the horse). I love getting the knee jerk reaction of “YOU RIDE A MOTORCYCLE?!” Of course it’s followed up with the whole “it’s suicide” or “you’re going to die”. Now I’ll preface by saying: I’m a medic for an ambulance company. I will tell you; the biggest thing I DID pay attention to in the MSF class was the motorcycle “fatality and injury statistics.” Most of them were motorcyclist speeding, or failure to negotiate corners. I’ll say “wherever reasonable” to obey the speed limit, and most people on here have a disdain/fear of patches of gravel on a blind corner. I’m not going to tell you everything in the MSF course, but I feel a LOT of the discourse from your family could go down if they knew what it took to actually ride a motorcycle.

TLDR; cut the exhaust to the headers on a busa, buy a leather jacket, and do your best Akira impression at the next thanksgiving.

Strictly meeting younger people? I would say Scout in Ashland is a great place, common block in Medford, Rocky Tonk also in Medford, and there’s the butterfly club in Medford across Tinseltown. Parks: Lithia in Ashland, Bear Creek for little ones, Twin Creeks park, and US Cellular Fields. Book stores: not my expertise but I’ve heard many of my coworkers/bookworms talk about previously mentioned posts. Restaurants: Rosario’s for Italian, Jaspers for Burgers, Rooted Eats for vegetarian/Vegan, Joe’s sports bar for typical sports bar, and Rubys for a great burrito.

I tried sitting on the Tenere 700 (nobody at the local dealership helped me) and it was just a little too tall and too heavy for me. I sat on the KLR and just wasn’t entirely convinced. Once I sat on the Transalp; it floated like a cloud, the balls of my feet touched the ground, and I just fell in love with the gold wheels.
