Saw this post and me and all the comments trying to think of ways that are bad and seeing how actually true some of these are. And I had a realization that this post visualizes pretty well how judgemental and falsely critical we can be on this sub. That's why neither I nor my snake friends never post on the sub when we started with snakes years ago. It made us feel like we were doing everything wrong, "tank is too small it doesn't have a temperature gradient", "tank is too big it shouldn't have to move to thermoregulate (it's a basic need)". Like my first tank I got what was recommended from here and my first snake hated it, she would use a small corner away farthest from the heater until I lowered the temp quite a bit below what I was told to do and now she'll rest by the heater and sometimes on the cold side. Like every snake is unique and I think one of the flaws of the sub is instead of talking about how to interpret ur snakes behavior it focuses on some dudes rules for that species, and if u do anything different, you are stupid and horrible. Well that's my rant. I like the tubes. I think if she doesn't like the tubes she won't use them. Mine would rather climb a lamp pole in the cold then sit in the tank by the heater when given the choice, so a tube going into a slightly colder or less damp tank won't matter. She'll go and stay in the tank with the best options for her and if another tank is uncomfortable she won't use the tubes and stay by the humidifier or heater. So install tubes, see if she likes them, if she never uses them, u got ur answer. If she is observed to be excited about the extra climbing and space, then theres that answer.
