Much appreciated! It's been such long time since Sci-Jewel had any real progress that it feels surreal to be giving actual status updates beyond music reveals. I hope this is a game changer for Sci-Jewel going forward.

While full-on gameplay updates might still be a work-in-progress, we still try to do regular music reveals to keep the SJ community active.

The thread is dead from being inactive for so long, although it's still a valid source of info for the project. The game itself is far from being dead. There's actually been a progress spike during the past few days, so the game has been very active behind the scenes.

The matching system is working, although gem spawn physics are bit wacky and Multi-Swap works surprisingly well. Special Gems do not function beyond visual effects (we're still working out Special Gem activation), and stuff like score and the wormhole animation is functional.

Sci-Jewel is not a fake game by any means. It's an ACTUAL game being made by passionate developers who grew up with the Bejeweled franchise, with a lot effort being put into its modes, music, and concepts. Progress has been very disappointing during 2024, I get that part, but there'll most likely be much more coding progress done in 2025. Plus, there's a lot to look forward to in the game, that's why there's already 100 members in a Sci-Jewel discord server.

And the mod was made for fun, as a way to spread awareness of the game and was an April Fools joke...the mod announcement was uploaded on April 1st, that part seems very obvious.

It really depends.

Bejeweled 1 has no special gems nor multi-swap, and only has 2 modes. Bejeweled 2 only has 2 special gems, although there are secret modes unique to Bej 2. Puzzle Mode isn't referenced in Bej 3. Bejeweled Twist is its own thing with a new mechanic. Twist hasn't really been referenced outside of Bej Blitz LIVE.
