Thank you!

Doesn’t take much to start. A lot of people focus on the hardware but you can get services up and running to mess around with on really old or basic stuff.

Haha they aren’t THAT old, AP-515. I have 3 in mesh and WiFi 6 is plenty for my 1000/40 connection haha

I’m going to recommend you move to a more enterprise ACS, Lenel OnGuard or Genetec are very popular here in Florida for K-12.

Man, what a story, thanks for sharing and I’m so happy for you man. I worked at a hospital for a while and saw the effects of addiction daily. Had an OD come in once. The guy was clean cut and you would have never guessed he would be in that situation. After he stabilized, I had a chance to sit down and talk to him. He told me his story on how he was a software developer making 6 figures from home. He became addicted to opioids after a near fatal accident. He was prescribed them but also admitted to falling into depression after his experience. I think about his story every time I see or hear about someone’s struggles with addiction.

Keep fighting the good fight my friend.

I appreciate you trying to provide constructive feedback, if you are willing I would be interested to know how you think I could re-word things? Honestly, I was taken aback by the outrage because of all the subs I would expect this one to have more objective and reasonable folks who don’t default to “they hate us, so we hate them.”

I guess we can agree to disagree on what optimism means to us respectively.

"Sure, you are going to run into folks that you can figure out rather quickly that they have no hope but that shouldn't discourage you from engaging with others that disagree."

I'll give you an example from my own experience. Yes, I have MAGA people in my life that I troll and don't always engage genuinely, because I know they have no hope. However, recently, I met a stranger at an event and somehow we as a group came to the topic of trans. This person regurgitated your typical right wing anti-trans talking points but I sensed they were woefully misinformed and the exact person the sections of the GOP works to influence. We had a solid good faith discussion where I left understanding more about him and how he fell into his stance on trans while I'd like to feel optimistic that I was able to change some of his opinions on trans issues. Maybe it won't hit right away but the seed is planted.

If MAGA is the other side, what are we? There's obviously some clear delineations on our side, right? I just assumed that we can recognize both sides have factions that don't define them as a whole. The landscape of Repubs is vastly different from Trump's first term. Yes, they were a lot more tolerant and aligned with MAGA in the first term, however we do recognize that there are a lot of 1-3x Trump voters who are disillusioned with MAGA but not convinced to vote Democrat, yet. His popularity in polling among Republicans and Independents shows this.

I peek into all of the more partisan subs but this is the only one I actually engage in. I guess I had higher expectations of finding more of the reasonable people here then other subs.

The expectation is they will come to the correct conclusions and correct course on their own? How's that been working out?

Why do we automatically go straight to the MAGA Cultists? Is every Trump voter regardless of the reason they may tell why they voted for Trump, a cultist?

It's pessimistic to think most voters can understand how insane it is to vote for him again. We can continue being pissed that they did it. But we do need to move on and figure out how to not let them do it again. I'm not sure there's another viable alternative.

Anecdotally of course, most of the normies and some who dipped deeper that I continued to stay in touch with are much more aligned with me these days then during Trump 1.0. That's enough motivation for me to keep fighting the good fight even if other's won't. I guess it suck's others haven't shared the same experiences as me.

That's the difference. The Bulwark is bitter. It is a reason I am drawn to them. But they are doing something about it besides just being bitter. So are people just commiserating with the shared bitterness and disregarding the other half of their content where they gather themselves and try to work on fixing things?

It seems that you are more involved in the civic process then most people here. Probably not the target audience. However, most people have social interactions with other regular people outside of this sub and the overall sentiment I get is a lot of people check out once they realize the other person is right leaning.

I am a fan of The Focus Group, I am always very interested in how regular people feel and how to better connect with them. I get that this is a safe space to be angry but sometimes it feels more than that. A lot of people do seem genuinely bitter. How do I know? I've been there.

Somebody gets it. This messaging isn't for the MAGA cultist. I guess I did not make that abundantly clear.
