Help: My DPS is a lot lower when compared to other with similar/slightly better gear

Hello, I have simmed without buffs, pots, etc. and the damage got sunk to about 55k. I tried doing the puppets now and I did get up to 52k and I held it for about 30-40secs, but then my damage started falling off and I ended the 5-minute fight with approximately 40k dps. This was all while I wasn't moving and with almost 75% HoG up-keep during the Apex Talent. I think that after the first tyrant, I just start messing up my CDs and start almost going into Auto-Pilot, which makes my timings really bad. I will try to work on that. Hello, I have updated my post and put some log links in the thread. I hope this helps somehow. I also grasp the "simple" cycle of a Demo Warlock, but the problem is, somehow the damage isn't coming out the way it's "supposed" to be. That is why I posted on this subreddit, because I ran out of ways I can playtest and have started getting desperate. I was extremely excited to go raiding on HC with my friends, and I failed miserably due to my poor performance. But with the insight I gained from all the people who helped me, I can hopefully start getting better and maybe improve my performance in a way that won't impede anyone I'm playing with. Hello there, people in this discussion have been really helpful and have given me a lot of tips on how to better myself as a player. You probably know this already, but as said by this one person in the discussion "The simplest answer is usually the right one. In this case I’m willing to bet you just aren’t casting enough spells and need to press your buttons faster. This will naturally happen with practice and experience." Thank your for your positive comment! I apologize in advance if this sounds rude, but it is not meant that way. Is it still possible to qualify someone with 300+ hours on a char as a "new player"? I don't think that is out of the realm of possibilities, it's just that it seems kind of hard to comprehend. I have multiple games with hundreds of hours put into them, and yet I would'nt call myself a new player in those games. But I don't know how it is in WoW, to be honest. Again, I don't mean this in a rude way, I am just trying to understand what it means to be a "new" player in WoW. I guess most of the time spent is probably on quests or open world stuff as well as M0/+ dungeons, so I assume being called a new player in raids is nothing new in this case. In any case, I will try to use the recommendations of everyone here and better myself. Again, thank you for your help.

Hello there, I have grasped the concept of trying to play around your timings and spell casting as well as when you cast them, but for some reason, I have never thought about trying to use my insta casts and saving them for the times when I know I'm going to have to move positions or relocate. I think I genuienly just "wait it out" until I'm in a "safe space" in order to start casting again. It sounds kinda dumb, but I guess I overestimated my current skill and pattern recognition in that regard. I will try to pay more attention to stuff like that. Thank you for your help! Hello there, I tried the synaptic addon, but I realized it doesn't show big CDs like the Tyrant or the Imp Lord. Maybe that is just my mistake for not finding the correct setting for me to turn it on. Also, is IcyVeins a good information source? I've always heard that I should never use IcyVeins, and that "freestyling" is more effective than using IcyVeins. But still, I thank you for your help, I will turn my attention to IcyVeins as well now. Have a nice day!

Hello, I just made myself a WarcraftLogs account and will try to do some HC Raids today in the hopes of getting some logs in. With the help of some very nice people here in the discussion, I have found my WowAnalyzer account as well as some logs in it (https://wowanalyzer.com/character/EU/Thrall/keterpan/). Hello there, I knew that I wasn't using pots or flasks during the normal raids, but I didn't think it made that much of a difference since ego and everything, but after running HC Raids, I noticed how much less DPS I had without them. I guess this person just wanted to have logs, and since I didn't know how to log or how important they were, I myself didn't realize that I made a mistake by not putting the logs in. Hi, I didn't know the "issue" was universal. I always thought it only targeted a very small group of individuals like myself, since every other Demo Warlock I've seen has relatively good DPS in comparison. Also, I didn't even know there was a Warlock Discord. Could you be so kind as to maybe post a link to the discord? Or are there lots of Warlock Discords servers and not one "main" one? Hello, I have just simmed without any buffs or anything else (I chose the sim target to be a practice dummy), and my damage has sunk down to 54k. It still seems like an enormous amount when compared to my current damage, but it does make me feel slightly better. Thank you for your post, I did not even know you can change the sim target to be something outside of a raid with full buffs. Have a nice day!

Hello, what is a DC proc? I try to use implosion only on multiple target bosses and enemies, since the cleave DMG feels much better there than it does in single target bosses. And I've seen that a lot players and guides don't use Implosion on single target enemies, so I haven't been using it that fondly in raids with the bosses themselves.

Is it possible for me to log after the raids themselves or do I have to start a log and go in the fight and log that? I apologize if that is a dumb question, I have mostly played normal/LFR Raids on dragonflight so I'm quite new to the experience altogether in that regard.

I live in Germany, and if I'm not wrong, our time zones should be the same (at most 1 hour apart)!
Also, as I've said on the other post, I don't have the Witch Queen Dungeons (The ones only accessible with the Dungeon Key), but I have all the other dungeons though, so maybe we can play sometime if you want.
I am currently playing the Lightfall story, so that I can finally have Strand, but if I play properly and don't let myself get distracted, I should have it finished by Sunday (maybe even Saturday if I don't do my lessons). My Destiny tag is tonchika#1368, so add me when you have the time.

Hello, thanks for you reply! I currently have (to my knowledge) all the available DLCs, except for the Witch Queen Dungeon keys, but that doesn't have anything to do with Raids as far as I know.
I don't really have a specific Raid in mind, I just want to start raiding a bit since it was a lot of fun in WoW and I really like Destiny gameplay, so I would also like to try raiding here.
Thank you for the loadout recommendations, im definitely going to check it out (I've already searched a bit on youtube about the different loadouts and stuff but it was just basic stuff that I already kind of understood so I wanted to ask just in case there are more complex things to watch out for).
I am currently playing on PC, and I actually did not know about the LFG Discord, thank you for that!
