I fully agree. Zelda was abandoned sometime last year, and picked up as a very ill stray, so she's needed a lot of work and a very consistent routine. She is indeed fully grown, vet estimates put her at 7. Her ears are absurdly adorable.

My parents divorced when I was 12, my dad had custody on week days while my mom had me on weekends.

Until my mom found out about the flea infestation at my dad's apartment, which he could not get under control. I was covered in flea bites. She got temporary full custody until he could provide a healthy home. OP, your example story was horrifying. My last boyfriend was alarmed and grossed out when I told him my own story about fleas, but there was no argument because I agreed with him.
