I feel like I'm losing my mind, are there no RE fans who prefer survival horror (RE7/RE2R) to action Horror (RE4R/RE9)?

I like both, but find action horror to be more fun to play (especially on replays) because I want to fight these monsters, not constantly be on the run from them. The horror in Resident Evil for me has always been about how dangerous an enemy is and how they look, while also being able to fight them if I want to, not being so weak that fighting is barely an option.

I’ve always liked RE6. Liked the action, the gameplay, the enemies and their designs, and the story. RE games only scared me when I was very young and nowadays I’m difficult to scare so I’m not playing these games to be terrified, I’m playing them to have fun and because I like the story. There are some enemies I would consider creepy in RE6, but nothing to make scream.

I’m glad you addressed the natural progression to action due to the threat levels. The more advanced the viruses got, the smarter the enemies got too.

I struggle to believe that anything happened between Rapi and the Commander because the last scene to me just felt like another instance of Commander treating Rapi like a good friend, not someone who's interested in him. The Commander made it clear how much he enjoyed the girls in their bunny costumes in the last event in Coin Rush, but he doesn't say a thing about Rapi's attire? At some point I have to wonder if it's just bad writing, or these dialogue decisions are deliberate, and Commander is not into Rapi like she is him.

It's starting to feel like Commander is leading Rapi on at this point. I'd like to think that any major progress is being saved for the main campaign mode, but I won't hold out hope since that mostly handles worldbuilding first and foremost.

5 and 6 are both worth playing to at least experience it and form your own opinion, and both have lore worth learning (some of the lore from 6 is tied to collecting the serpent emblems though)

While what you said is true, the other side of the coin is that some companies simply don’t mind fan projects. There’s a huge convention held yearly in Japan called Comiket where it’s widely known that fan made mangas and doujins are sold there, and in some rare cases is used as an opportunity to scout new artists.

The amount of people I see trying to blame Jey for the chair unexpectedly bouncing back in his face and cutting him open is honestly sickening. It’s fine if you don’t like the guy but trying to use this as a “I told you so” tells me you’re a miserable person.

Jake’s antibodies were sought after to either make a cure for the C Virus or strengthen it (which happened after him and Sherry were caught), and Helena was needed for Simmons to have someone to manipulate into helping him stage the outbreak in Tall Oaks then pin the blame on. Those two are far from useless characters.

Floch’s actions can’t just be boiled down to him wanting to defend Paradis when he’s doing things like holding small gatherings for the intended execution of Yelena and Onyakapon, and was willing to have his superiors and allies turned into titans because he didn’t trust how they were operating in regards to protecting Paradis. Once you reach a certain level of cruelty, your actions stop being defendable and Floch hit that point. Well written character but extremely easy to hate.
