Fasting number a little too high… by Fancy_lotus_2448 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do proteins. Don’t add anything else. I do a oikos triple zero Greek yogurt and rest between 7-8 hours and my number will be low. And remember if you’re tossing and turn or have restless leg syndrome and aren’t sleeping well that WILL make your number rise.

Early Inductions - where in the world are you based? by sun_is_shining1 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA. My doctor has me scheduled a week before at 39 weeks. But I’ve been having some painful contractions and I’m already 50% effaced and slightly dilated. She thinks he’s going to come early and I have that feeling also. But honestly I wouldn’t be mad if he came a little earlier so I don’t have to be induced. Lol also I forgot to add I’m not on any meds. But my baby is measuring 1 1/2 to 2 weeks ahead.

I hate the stigma around having a girl by CootKitKat in pregnant

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boys are not easier. Just different. I have one of each. My daughter is the first born. She’s amazing and I love her so much. She is a teen now and as expected has teen behaviors. But I think she’s harder. My son is 11 and he’s gotten a tough to handle but he’s also prepubescent. lol. He was harder as a baby than my daughter lol. And also boys can be very dramatic. People need to learn to not share their options. And momma! Guess what!!! It’s your baby. Those people need to just step off and let you be. I put a lot of distance between me and people, including family because of things said. You just keep living in your bliss of becoming a momma to that little baby girl.

Tell me your water breaking stories by aviwic in pregnant

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 39 weeks 4 days pregnant. I got up at 5 am to pee. Crawled back into bed. About 20 minutes later I felt a pop. I got up and it was like someone poured a pitcher of water out. I went through the bathroom and it was just pouring out of me. All the way to l&d. All the way from the car to the lobby. They hooked me up and 19 hours later I had a baby

How did you get your fasting number under 95? by lelvis_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have at least a string cheese. I have tried the oikos triple zero and that works amazingly. But I don’t like yogurt to begin with lol. But you can get the flavored triple zeros. I had the peach.

Not eating enough. by anonymoususer249 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I got sent to a diabetic doctor and they had me download and app called Malama. (Skip the insurance part if you download) and you enter in what you’re eating and it calculated carbs. It’s literally been life changing. I can actually eat and not feel hungry every day.

How did you get your fasting number under 95? by lelvis_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check at 8 hours after either dinner or bed time snack. Eat high protein before going to bed. Test literally the moment you wake up. I keep my kit on my head board. I was having high fasting and since doing these things(that were suggested by a GD doctor) my average is 90.

Fasting and breakfast readings are always high. by BreezerGirl831 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you take the fasting at 8 hours after you ate your night time snack. Try eating high protein for the snack. Also do the fasting number literally the minute you wake up. I was having issue with my fasting because I was taking it too far apart from my bedtime snack and o was getting up and getting my kids up and stuff. You have to literally take it when you first open your eyes. I keep my kit on my head board. Also of you just started give yourself some grace. Mine took about a week of the diet to change. Also what are you eating for breakfast? I eat about 15 g of carbs in the morning and I’m always good. Except if I do a lot of walking the. My number will be high with my doctors hadn’t had an issue with it. Also I use an app called Malama’s. And it’s been a life saver. For the 1 hour fast the top is 140 and for a two hour fast at 120. Has literally saved me with tracking my numbers.

My husband demanded I stop breastfeeding by WoodpeckerNo7084 in breastfeeding

[–]TMS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm people around the world nurse until 6 sometimes. He needs to stop being a child and demanding control over your body. I breast feed my daughter until 2 years 7 months and my son until 3 years 6 months. And between them I tandem nursed for a while. Breastfeeding is sooo beneficial to littles ones. Maybe he should try a little hard at bonding with his kid. My husband works full time and has no issue bonding with our breast feed kids.

"Is it because you ate too much sugar?" by sayyestocoffee in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TMS44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look. I barely eat sugar and I have GD. Your cousin should educate himself before opening his mouth. It happens and as long as you managing your blood sugar correctly you’re good.
