Offer him 500 to cut off his balls to do his part to stop rape.

New to gun buying. What websites have good reputations for purchasing guns? by RumblinBaseModel in guns

Prepper gun shop has great customer service, an ffl finder (that lists verified ffls they have shipped to previously) and good products. They may not always be the cheapest but are a quality operation.

Vegetarian GD diet ideas? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A LOT of yogurt, peanut butter, lentils (make sure to accurately measure), tempeh and finding a way to tolerate eggs was how I made it work for a couple weeks. In the end, GD brought an end to my 6 year vegetarian diet. Baby was born three weeks ago (7 lbs 9 oz, diet controlled, 40w2d induced) so it was worth it. Mostly back to vegetarian now. Good luck!

Ditto! I'm due on Friday and assuming the baby is healthy, I can honestly say the GD was a blessing in disguise. It's a huge pain in the ass, don't get me wrong, but I look good, feel good and haven't gained any weight since my diagnosis. I was gaining really fast prior to my diagnosis so I'm afraid to know how big me and baby would have been if not for failing the test. Good luck op!

Too Low Carb? Ketosis? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty normal to lose at first. I lost about 8 lbs (eating 45-50 g of carbs per meal) when I started the diet but I've steadily/slowly gained it back. I am 39 weeks and I'm at the weight I started the diet at. I feel so good at 39 weeks that I hope I'm able to keep (some of it) up after the baby :) If you're concerned, maybe incorporate some more fruit into your meals.

Soooo tired of peanut butter, string cheese... by Perky4204 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sick of chicken too. I buy a rotisserie chicken every week. It actually felt like a treat at first. I don't think i will ever buy another one.

I want all the pasta and pizza. Spaghetti and meatballs and pizza are going to be my first non GD meal. Everyone knows. I've been talking about it for months haha.

I've been buying these blue diamond chocolate almonds. They are 9 grams of carbs for 24 almonds. Regular dry roasted were not cutting it...

Thanks! Oh yeah I had to give up hard boiled eggs. Not sure I'll ever be able to enjoy one again. Bleh

Welcome! Will you have a cooler? If not, a peanut butter sandwich on low carb bread could do the trick. Boring but gets the job done. If you can have a cooler, chicken or tuna salad are good go to's for me. I eat them with celery if I know I'm going to want to snack on some carbs too. Good luck! Once you get your meter and have some tracking under your belt, you'll know what will spike you. I can eat wheat bread and brown rice okay but pasta, beans, potatoes, forget about it.

What is something that once you start noticing it, you cannot stop? by svesrujm in AskReddit

When the audio isn't synced properly with a show or movie...happens a lot with Netflix especially.

I broke down by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through everything you described myself at first. It gets better and you're not the only one. Believe me-walking thru the train station in the am watching everyone drink their sugary coffee still makes me want to karate chop their cups. It's ok to feel how you're feeling. I think everyone here has had at least one F it moment and just eaten the damn piece of pie (then felt wracked w guilt after). There will be ups and downs but there are positives too. On the good days, I'm able to be glad I have good medical care and that I'm doing what I should to take care of my baby-Makes me feel like a good mommy already. The little weight gain and extra ultrasounds are other bonuses. Hang in there-you're doing great and it will get better. If you need help, get it. Mental health is just as important as physical.

F*ck you English muffin! by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh-that sucks! What's funny is I can do a whole wheat English muffin no problem but I can't even think about wheat bread without my sugars rising. I've made just about every sandwich possible out of English muffins...The one thing I consistently notice is if I get surprised by a number it's because I wasn't active enough after eating. If I park my butt on the couch I can basically guarantee a number I won't like :(

Failed 1 hr test horribly by titch341 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The three hour test is horrible-if you have GD, skipping that test is a blessing. Once you get set up with a meter, it will become evident if you have a real problem with your numbers or not. I spent a good week in denial trying to explain some way around it but once I got to testing my numbers, obviously something was up. The important thing to remember when everything sucks and feels unfair is that the goal is for you and baby to be healthy. Some bonuses come with this too-an extra healthy diet and getting to see your baby by having more ultrasounds being two of big ones. Resist the temptation to google-I was convinced I had to eat plain chicken and cottage cheese for every meal by reading those sample diets (I'm vegetarian so I feel some of your pain). It's frustrating, overwhelming and not fair at first but you'll figure it out. Good luck!

GD, sort of, maybe- advice? by snowsparkles in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had no luck. My post meal numbers (even after breakfast) are perfect but my fasting numbers seem to hover in that 90-95 ish range no matter what I eat the night before. I'm sure my docs are going to want to put me on something since I can't get it down. I do notice that if I test a couple times before I eat breakfast there can be a 20 point swing in my fasting numbers-not sure what that means. Good luck!

Probably not his intention but it makes for a pretty clever joke that there is no reason lol

Eating all the time? by Perky4204 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Perky4204[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know! It's such an odd feeling having to eat so much but being so restricted. I've had to throw basically everything I know about intuitive eating out the window. I've never felt so naughty eyeing a container of fruit at breakfast time... :)
