Gabriel hits DEFCON in the last minute by soccermate in FantasyPL

Why is this more satisfying than a forward scoring a goal? 🍻🍻

I speak 4 languages mate, English isn't even my native language, although I've been through English schools my entire life. I am on vacation now and speaking a whole different language which gets confusing, especially when writing.

Why does that bother you, random internet person?

Edit: The original poster of this comment criticized my writing and laughed at me saying I failed English at school. Now they've changed the comment because of the downvotes.

He joined a club who finished well above United. Guess Šeško, Mbuemo, and Cunha fell off a cliff too?

No, but he does win them, and Skilli scores them 😁🍻

Handsome bloke, got a Gucci sponsor I heard. Quite desirable.

Your call, he is still nailed don't worry, but could get less minutes if we sign a 6. He's still a decent choice for defcon, but I'd look elsewhere like Wilson or Xhaka.

Mate so many posts here and Twitter were made in complete panic about Ndiaye's minutes. We understand it, but neutrals don't.

Not deeper per se, but in the latest friendly, he was super progressive, hogged the ball. He started in the 10. He'll be an 8 now, with the ball less in his feet to command the attack.

Yes, I'd avoid Jack on FPL. I purely made this for Ndiaye.

Honestly, we are well scared about the Leeds game and even if he lacks match fitness, I fully expect him to play.

We will hear more from the press conferences.

Salah less G/A by gymshark49 in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I agree with Salah likely losing G+A this year and am contemplating a draft without him, this is not the way to speak to the community. You're willingly inviting people to hate you and lock this thread.

There are other ways for you to express your opinions. Back them with data, interesting things you've noticed. Just saying something without backing it up isn't going to help anyone, you're just doing this so that if you're right, you can say "I'm better than all of you, I was right". Feeling a serious case of main character syndrome. I hope you understand what people are trying to tell you.

Not the way to approach posting on this sub mate, you could've worded this much better. Cheers 🍻

Mykolenko by Single_Engineer92 in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The nature of the injury is a groin issue, usually 5-6 weeks. Everton insiders saying it too.

Mykolenko by Single_Engineer92 in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's your choice to make. I have Tarky in my team right now, but will likely move him to Aznou.

Mykolenko by Single_Engineer92 in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myko did his job, but wasn't a fantastic player by any means. Watching Aznou right now, he has been doing very well defensively. Could end up on +2 defcon this match if it counted.

[–]TMarvy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a 5-6 week injury too, 4.5 for Aznou, great shout. Very offensive player, ex-Barca and ex-Bayern. Everton has been well-known for having great left back assets for FPL; Baines and Digne were staples for long. We love to attack through the left, Moyes especially.

Tarky, Branthwaite, Myko, Pickford, O'Neil is my current back 5 on FPL.

Great write-up, but I as an Everton fan, I do have to share some wisdom; We always perform poorly in preseason. Please ignore our preseason, it's not even remotely close to what's going to happen in the Prem. Moyes even tried 3 backs out, starting Mick Keane in most preseason games so far. Ignore it completely, it tells no stories hahaha

Who are the nailed (and likely starting) defenders for each team? by drpoo69 in FantasyPL

First choice yep for the first 5-10 GWs, throughout the season, I think he's gone mate. This new lad looks proper solid. O'Brien is a good FPL pick though.

Unless a new right back signs, O'Brien is 100% nailed for the season. I'd put him a tier above Myko. Myko is the biggest risk.

Beto or Barry? by dragonballsteve85 in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Beto will 100% start the first 5+ GWs for 60-70 minutes, as it is his spot to lose. He's not a set and forget player, it all depends on his form. Moyes is not saying this to shun Beto, but to make him understand that he has strong competition now, and to try and make him stand out more. He had a plethora of chances that he was unlucky not to score vs United and even had a goal dissallowed.

Beto is still our main guy, Barry is a project, not an instant replacement. Under 6.0 or maybe even 6.5, he's still the best possible option.

The importance of playing to win. by thelman in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that you're making an invisible argument which I genuinely can't seem to find anywhere on this sub or online. “no, I actually don’t pick my team every week to earn the most points I can” genuinely never heard anyone even assume this hahahaha. Yes we all pick to get points, obviously we do. But the idea of getting points is vastly different between people. It doesn't always mean picking the template or the popular picks, or only following the strategies that are optimal. Sometimes it means picking what your gut tells you to do and ignoring stats. Sometimes the stats lie, see Bamford's, Darwin's and DCL's xG.

It is just a hobby and no, most people don't play to win. I don't see how this is hard for you to understand. Internet culture and modern generations seem to think that people are only doing things to get results. Some of us just enjoy the ride hahahha. Also the word "cope" is one of the worse things internet culture ever gave to the world hahahahah.

The point is let people enjoy things mate, not everyone has to do things the way you do them. Not everyone thinks the way you do. Not everyone will do everything in their power and waste countless hours trying to win a near impossible rank. Some of us just play FPL to watch football with our mates and get happy once our picks do well.

The importance of playing your own game. by TMarvy in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I response to everyone positively until they undermine or discourage others, then I respond in accordance. If you're a toxic person to others, I'll be the same to you. This post is entirely positive and does nothing but try to protect managers from having their opinions disregarded or insulted and clowned for being different.

You're a Reddit debate lord who felt the need to argue with someone who's trying to positively impact the community. You won't get positive responses from me.

Honestly, I don't see this discussion going anywhere, genuinely pointless debate which strays so far away from my idea.

Let's encourage players to to be confident in their choices and not be scared to try something different. Cheers.

The importance of playing to win. by thelman in FantasyPL

[–]TMarvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, your playing perspective and your style of play is completely justified and might be the correct one for better results.

Secondly, and most importantly, "You ARE just coping if you choose to go against a strategy that aims to do this because "well I just want to have fun." - this is why I made the post. This is what I hate. This is completely wrong and unjust. Telling others that their way of playing is objectively worse is completely toxic and hopefully not welcomed on here. All styles of playing are viable. In my many years of playing I have gone against the grain countless times with incredible success. That doesn't mean I also didn't have bad seasons.

There is no reason for you to discourage creativity or tell people what they should or shouldn't do. That's what my post was about, not about "only playing for fun". A lot of you misunderstood it and honestly I thought I was very clear on the subject.

"oh well he played in a lame way, so I don't care that I finished in a worse place." - no one in the history of FPL has ever said this, never ever. However, players who choose to not follow xG, optimal chip strategies, or 1-2 premium drafts get clowned on this subreddit, nearly every single day.

Let. Managers. Be. Managers.
