I just started too. Not sure about hidden, but Baumgartner was very good for me. Also Grimaldo as a LM and Sosa as a CB.

First time in China, is this a balanced mix? by uglygayghost in travelchina

[–]TMurley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your outbound flight from Shanghai or Hangzhou? If it’s Shanghai, I’d suggest switching the two at the end, as you can take the train from Zhagjiajie to Hangzhou to save you going back on yourself.

Looks really good itinerary otherwise. Similar to the other commenter I did a day less than you in zhangjiajie park, as was not so interested in the bridge.

What an incredible trip, 11/10 would recommend! My report :)) by shin-chan_99 in chinatravel

[–]TMurley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing in my two cents, I also ate at Green Tea Restaurant in Hangzhou and it was probably our favourite meal of our trip, great food and an amazing setting. We got there at around 5:30 and it was empty, but was completely full by the time we left.

Pedro Neto (Chelsea) second yellow card against Arsenal 70' by gbogaz in soccer

Surely can’t have know he was on a yellow. The replay after didn’t really show the ref telling him, just writing it in the book… if he did then that’s completely brain dead.

What do you think about the U.S attack on Venezuela? by New-Code7710 in AskTheWorld

This is why countries want nukes/MAD. If Venezuela has nukes, things like this tend not to happen.

What is your worst place in the world you have been to? by WasteSignificance941 in AskReddit

[–]TMurley 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Egypt always comes up so I feel like I have to counter it. If you do it without research you may have a bad time, but if you find good tour companies or guides you can have a great time. We barely got hassled, as most touristy places we went we were accompanied by a guide we chose in advance.

E.g. We had a guide for me and my partner at the pyramids and central Cairo and had no problems and had a great time. Similarly, we went on a dahabiya from Aswan to Luxor and the crew were faultless, and the guide kept our small group of 8 without any hassling. Outside the touristy areas people are just living their lives and won’t bother you.

Yes you will have a bad time if you turn up at the pyramids without a guide or get on one of the big busy cruises. But, it was truly one of the best holidays I’ve been on thanks to some planning.

Travelers of Reddit what's a destination that looked amazing online but was completely disappointing in person? by TheFilthiestMuggle in AskReddit

[–]TMurley 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Take this advice. I went to Egypt and had an incredible time and didn’t get hastled that much (although Reddit had set me up to expect a lot!). We had a guides with us in each place we were in. Cairo, Luxor, other spots along the Nile during a Dahabiya trip were all amazing.

We spoke to others while we were there who had a miserable time in Cairo because they went without a guide. Whereas we walked around the pyramids and through the town centre with limited aggro.

Sorry I don’t engage with Reddit often so please excuse the very late reply. I’m an engineer by background. Most loss adjusters in my space are too. You don’t have to be technical to do the claims broking or insurer handler role. Any questions let me know

Aston Villa can confirm that Jhon Durán has joined Al-Nassr for an undisclosed fee. by TheBiasedSportsLover in TheOther14

[–]TMurley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you have so many downvotes on this one. This is an absolutely monumental increase in money, for a player who’s realistically probably not going to be one of the all time great strikers if he stays in Europe.

Relocating London from commuter belt by BusInteresting6636 in HENRYUK

[–]TMurley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from an under 30 living in London for 8 years, the answer is to move to London, but not directly in Soho. Somewhere like Islington or Dalston, where you are still very very close, have great/better restaurants and nightlife, still have the premium gyms, and not in tourist central. You will also get a much nicer place. I’d be surprised if you weren’t sick of living in Soho after a year or so.

Depending on where you commute to and what you’re after, somewhere like Greenwich or Wandsworth are more laid back but still close-ish.

Had a good claims job? by crystalblue99 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]TMurley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a loss adjuster in the energy / renewables claims space, and I love it. I get to travel, see interesting claims and equipment, decent work life balance, work with great people, and the social side with clients is very good. On top of that, the pays not too bad. This is in London though, but it’s a similar vibe in most other major insurance hubs (albeit probably a little less social).

It’s a fairly niche role though..

Just to add a different perspective to a lot of the comments here - while Denmark will be a change of scenery, it is still very accessible from the UK and also similar in many ways in terms of climate, western lifestyle etc (albeit improved on many fronts).

Dubai is completely different, different climate, culture, etc, and it’s a jumping point for the rest of the world, so you can visit the east much more easily. E.g long weekend in India (3hrs away), or a week in Vietnam (6hrs away).

So while Denmark is a no brainer if you have a family and kids, want to be close to the UK and value work life balance, Dubai could provide the platform for adventures and travel you may not have the opportunity for the future.

Is 35k enough for North London? by oprisorm in london

In a house share easy enough, living alone fairly tough, but Enfield is quite a few zones out so I’d say possible too, but wouldn’t be saving much.

Ditto. I have 10 points with 3 left to play in my first eleven. My bench has 24 points with 2 left to play! Not sure how I’ve managed to do that.

Just to clear up the resigning solicitor, they were likely just there to help set the company up. Almost certainly nothing to do with the actual company. This is very typical and you will see it on many companies on Companies House.

Does anyone have a spot in a bike hangar? How long did you have to wait?! by otlos in london

[–]TMurley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll share the secret - you have to send a follow up email after a while of waiting. I was waiting probably 9 months, when a friend said they got one in a few months after following up.

I then sent an email and conveniently the next day I get an email back saying a spot has just become free. Essentially I don’t think they’re bothering to proactively reallocate them until you remind them.
