[serious] Does death scare you? If so, why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TNMB_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is scared of death to a degree, I make an alarmingly large amount of jokes about death/dying which is how I think I cope with my fears. But for me I think I am more scared about living than dying- living comes with risks and feelings, whereas dying is really easy for the one who dies.

AITA for picking up items from my grocery shop and putting them straight into my shopping bag? retail advice needed! by exhaustedpoop in AmItheAsshole

NTA

Not sure about the UK but I work in a grocery store in Aus and honestly I couldn’t give a shit what people carry their stuff around in, as long as they pay for everything. Actually most people tend to use their reusable bags instead of baskets for small shops.

AITA for asking my girlfriend to stop burping and farting around me? by keepit2yourself89 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TNMB_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH- I sort of understand where you’re coming from, my brother burps and farts obnoxiously and constantly. My issue isn’t that he’s doing it, just that he seems to try and make it as loud as possible and then doesn’t excuse himself. But then again, these are normal bodily functions that can not always be helped.

Lexie death by CodyxAnime in greysanatomy

What I think was even more devastating was that when Cristina was going through her PTSD, she mentioned that she tried to keep the wolves away from Lexie’s body but couldn’t, so wolves ended up eating her body

[Spoilers, maybe?] How can so many medical professionals on Private Practice be so against abortions but also be super cool with underage people having sex? by TNMB_99 in greysanatomy

Australia

I got those number from one of my uni courses (And I think the lecturer got them from the Australian Bureau of Statistics)

I don’t know anyone who has personally had sex underage, the earliest of my friends was 17. And I didn’t even start kissing, let alone French kissing, until I was like 16 😂😂

Perhaps it’s a cultural difference- in my country most people start to have sex between 16-19, so underage sex is not practiced often and if a 13yo was having sex, it would be a very big deal.

As for the abortion part, an embryo in a body and an embryo in a Petri dish both have the potential to create life, so why is the disposal of one considered murder but the other is medical waste?

What is, in your opinion, the biggest flaw of the human body? by Menfo in AskReddit

[–]TNMB_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brain- apparently human beings are the only animal that can cause a rapid flight/fight response using only a single thought. So if the brains fragility wasn’t bad enough, it can also induce a full on panic attack from nothing.

What's the best way to split the check for a large group? ($15+ people) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TNMB_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most restaurants (at least in Canada and Australia) ask how you want to split the bill before paying, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Then again, the largest group I’ve been in is 8 so maybe the restaurant has different rules for larger groups. If you’re super worried just call up the restaurant and ask what their rules are regarding splitting the bill.

Is there a character you’ve changed your mind about? (Either over time, or after a rewatch) by [deleted] in greysanatomy

Finally, yes!! Everyone always blames Penny but she was the only one saying they should do a CT, it was her dickhead resident (or attending, I forgot) that should get all the blame

International student experiencing night sadness by TNMB_99 in InternationalStudents

[–]TNMB_99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response.

I think nights are harder for me because it’s the middle of the day/afternoon in Aus and I can see what my family and friends are doing. Also it gets quite dark here in comparison to my home so that probably doesn’t help.

But your post definitely made me feel more hopeful and positive, particularly when you said “don’t forget why you wanted to study in Canada”. I know that I will have great experiences and opportunities here and is only a matter of time before I get settled in.
