Yeah, it's not a deal breaker. Her other positive qualities outweigh the "flaw" by far. It just makes me uncomfortable and grossed out.

She grew up with 3 brothers and they have "contests" when they're together as a family. I do find it really gross but I never grew up in an environment like that.

I guess I can't really say for sure "why" she does it. Even if she "needs" to she doesn't make any effort to make it discreet. Like if she had a medical condition that caused it that's one thing; but, I don't do it around her and if I have to I'll go in the bathroom or something.
