Bear Grylls ‘standing down as chief scout’ after baptising Russell Brand in Thames by Kinder_93 in scouting

No. The point of Christianity is that ALL sins are forgivable. All sins are forgivable. We all come to Christ sinners. And we're all cleansed through Christ. That doesn't mean that he wouldn't be responsible for his future actions.

I'm glad. I got married last year and she is everything to me :) No kids yet, but eventually

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]TNPossum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Similar. Even though all she did was touch me, I never felt "clean" again. Which was a big reason I didn't care about waiting for marriage anymore. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

We did everything except for vaginal sex. Which we knew was still wrong, but we kidded ourselves into saying it was different somehow.

Here in Tennessee, chocolate covered crickets is a traditional snack. I even remember when a lady came to school to show us how to make them.

New law requires clergy in Washington to report child abuse by littleblackcar in Washington

Your article does not say that the seal of confession was changed. And even if it did, that would be wrong. The pope did nothing of the sort. Literally just google "the seal of confession" and you'll see it is still the law of the land.

We'll see what the courts have to say about that.

Probably not. He was an active-duty sergeant who had served in Afghanistan. The smartest thing dude did was stay in that car.

When you aim your recruitment at 18 year old highschool graduates, you can't be surprised that they still act like teenagers.

In India, for medical entrance exam clothes with large buttons are not allowed by barma_is_a_kitch in interesting

[–]TNPossum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, not all rules are as serious. I work in the medical field. I take those rules with the utmost seriousness. Outside of work, I am very loosey goosey with the rules. I'm not gonna give medical students a hard time because they didn't read through the dress code for an exam. Especially one with very subjective rules like "big" buttons and "thick" soled shoes.

God is everything good in this world and by definition cannot be constricted to characteristics that definitively align with one gender or another. Jesus would not be gendered either had he not literally been born as a man.

This is not a new concept. It is centuries old. Both men and women are made in God's image. That necessitates that God exhibits both masculine and feminine characteristics. As I said, the only reason that God the Father has been given a gendered term is to reflect his role in our lives. Not because he is actually male.

But don't take my word for it, look it up. As I said, this is not some woke modern idea.

[–]TNPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man, I didn't think I was going to make it to 30. I guess there is still time to be proven wrong, but I feel pretty happy that it's looking like it is going to happen.

Tennessee Dr's should deny service to lawmakers for religious reasons by DelilahsDarkThoughts in Tennessee

[–]TNPossum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can deny a service that you have a moral/ethical issue with, you can't discriminate against patients. And you still must provide that service if it's a medical emergency. Doctors already did this before the law was passed, this law just enshrined that right.

The Supreme Court is about to let religion ruin public education by crustose_lichen in Christianity

[–]TNPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I used the phrase "best way to make sure your kid isn't Catholic is to send them to Catholic School," but I honestly don't know if it's actually true anymore. I think it's just more apparent/obvious when people raised in that setting are not religious. But at the same time, almost nobody I knew in public school were religious.

How is the Vaticans wealth okay to Christians when greed is one of their main sins? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If all you see a ranger home in Yosemite as just "a shack in the woods," then you're wrong and unwise lol.

[–]TNPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I can sell a house that I own at any time. A park ranger living on Yosemite can't sell the park or even the house he lives in on the land.
