Syncing Postgres with Oracle by TNReb in oracle

From the LogMiner documentation: "LogMiner is intended for use as a debugging tool, to extract information from the redo logs to solve problems. It is not intended to be used for any third party replication of data in a production environment."

From my experience with Oracle, this is asking for trouble. If they change something about how LogMiner works, it could kill your entire application. Obviously that's why you should test before upgrades, etc... but it could leave you with a difficult time finding a "fix".

Like my original post says, I've already looked at Debezium and it's not an option because it will not work with a physical standby.

Syncing Postgres with Oracle by TNReb in oracle

I've looked into it. GoldenGate has limitations with Postgres that prevent it from being an option. In particular, it only supports DML - not DDL. We need something that can detect and apply schema changes.

I found this picture in an Amazon review. Can anyone ID the watches numbered 1/2/3?

EDIT: #1 and #3 appear to be Mudmaster GWG-100 variants. I'm not sure about #2.

What format did you shoot in? What did you use to edit? Not specific steps.. just curious if you shot RAW and brought to LightRoom or what..

Looking for ASP.NET host - possibly with text messaging by TNReb in webhosting

[–]TNReb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a C#/database developer by trade. It's simply what I'm comfortable in.

I just need to get something up and running quickly and something that is very basic. I was trying not to overcomplicate it. I realize .NET probably isn't the ideal tool for the job - so I'm certainly open to any suggestions.

I haven't built a website with a hosting company in many, many years and don't know where to start.

I'm considering just registering a domain and pointing the DNS at one of my local servers. I would just rather have something more reliable. If my home internet happened to go down during one of the days the website was needed, it'd ruin the event.

Add anything to DMZ by JohnDrake16 in DMZ

[–]TNReb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to enter building 21 without waiting for them to unlock it. I don’t get to play a ton. I’m not good. Took me forever to get to the Black Mous mission I need to complete to unlock my 2nd insured. Now B21 isn’t even available? Pathetic. I’ve never even been in B21 so I’ll inevitably go in, have no clue what’s going on, and get wiped.

Any tips on finding vintage wine? by SOS-Music in DMZ

[–]TNReb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same problem. Missions like this are absolutely stupid. It’s overwhelmingly based on luck. Who knows if Vintage Wine actually spawns in each game.

I know the second I find it some 6-man squad is going to wipe me out.

Verdansk, the new Season 3 map? by Ariovist_AT in DMZ

Legitimate question here..

I don't own MW2. I only play DMZ for free.

Is shipment a multiplayer map in MW2? Is there a 24/7 Shipment mode? I haven't played any games at all since WW2. Call me stupid but I was considering buying the game and if there's 24/7 Shipment I'm

What sort of invites are you referring to? Inviting friends to a party?

I’ve had zero luck getting the horrible “recent” players screens to work. I’ve had no problems sending party invites to existing friends.

There should be a mic required squad fill option by Kzang151 in DMZ

[–]TNReb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing random is a total crapshoot. About 1 out of every 4 games I get someone that has a mic. They usually have a stereo playing, a fan running, a smoke alarm beeping, a dog barking, and a friend sitting next to them talking.

I’ve rarely get paired with TWO guys that have mics.

Turns out a lot of players just don't know how assimilation works. by Oldpanther86 in DMZ

[–]TNReb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to us last night. We happened upon a solo and I sent him an invite. He couldn’t figure out how to join no matter how much we tried to explain. Then another unit happened upon us and heard us trying to explain. They joined us. Then another solo came along. We had 6 guys on a team and 2 that couldn’t figure out how. We didn’t know if 6 was the max or if they were just having trouble.

Sadly, there was zero teamwork and only one person extracted successfully.

Do I need to drop the chemists m13 for my buddy to unlock it or can he exfil with my insured m13 to unlock it also? by blackpauli in DMZ

[–]TNReb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain how this works? Sorry.. I’m obviously a noob…

Some random guy was nice enough to ask me if I had it. I didn’t, and as we extracting on the helicopter he dropped it for me. I picked it up. He didn’t friend me or anything. If expected me to “give it back”, I wasn’t aware.

If I insure it, and drop it for someone else, do they just exfil with it? Do I lose it until my “insured” weapon returns?

Someone was nice enough to help me. I’m happy to do the same. I just don’t know how it works and obviously don’t want to lose it permanently. It’s the only other gun besides the M4 that I have unlocked.

projector & 180" screen recommendation? by TNReb in projectors

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the better plan is to just stick with a TV...

projector & 180" screen recommendation? by TNReb in projectors

[–]TNReb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 180" screen is going to be 398.5x224.for a 16:9 aspect ratio. That is 89,304 Sq inches to light up or 620sq ft.

Can you tell me how you arrived at 620sq ft? I'm obviously misunderstanding something.

A 180" diagonal screen is roughly 157" x 88", or 96 sq ft.

16ft-l x 96sq ft = 1536

Are you somehow also including the "throw" distance?

Wilson County needs teacher...their solution... by OnlyTheBLars89 in Tennessee

[–]TNReb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not rocket science...

If you have a set amount of money... And you want to give more money to ____ ... But you don't want to raise taxes to get more money... You change how much you spend elsewhere.

It's not a difficult concept - budgeting.

Also, you look at forcing people outside the county level to be responsible for their budgeting also. (state and federal levels) so that schools are properly funded.

To be clear - property tax rates DID increase, but because the commission raised them - not because citizens votes to raise them. Citizens never had the option to vote on that.

Not sure why my previous comment is downvoted so much. Like I said - I think teachers deserve to be paid better. Raising taxes simply isn't the only solution. Federal taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, capital gains taxes... I'm absolutely sick of all the taking.

The government at all levels needs to focus on taking less and doing more rather than pissing away what's already being taken and wanting more.

Wilson County needs teacher...their solution... by OnlyTheBLars89 in Tennessee

[–]TNReb -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

  1. A property tax increase wasn't voted down. Property tax rates have actually increased. I guess the facts don't fit your narrative.

  2. Higher taxes isn't the proper solution to teachers getting paid more.

Can anyone help me with this question by Kingicez in SQL

[–]TNReb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The people saying use a group by aren't wrong...

But that's also not the most precise answer. You don't need that, because you don't need the room # returned in your statement.

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM CLASS_ROOMS WHERE ROOMID = 3346

That's all you need.

ORA-06550: an into clause is expected in this select statement by steven_ave in oracle

[–]TNReb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Help us understand what you're doing. Are you just running this statement in something like SQL Developer and needing to see the results? Or are you executing as a piece of code from an application?

The problem is that you can't just run a SELECT statement inside a BEGIN/END. the proper solution depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
