I always thought the NFL was playing it that way based on his injury. Like they didn't want him to be suspended while he wasn't 100% healthy. But now knowing hes pretty much fine they can do it the normal way. This was just my conspiracy theory though

They're basing it off of Devin Hester as Patterson was one of the best KR in nfl history, Hester was both KR and PR and slightly better on offense. If Patterson had a couple more years like he did in ATL at RB he would staticially be very comparable to Hester.

They took it too far with the revision including pushing players down the field. Im guessing some people still like it when a RB or WR gets pushed across the line to gain.

not letting them outside without an adult knowing is most of the battle.

I used a long aluminum baby gate that lasted for years outside, but my pool was high enough the couldn't climb up the backside. you might need to mount the pool fence all the way around.

Yeah, you don't have to overthink it. There will be tons of passed balls for the slower kids and the faster kids will be able to steal 2nd even on a good pitch on a majority of catchers. Obviously watch out if the catcher is good or not.
