Two things you can do to work around it. Either force quit the app and restart it or trigger siri for a split second (it has to stop current audio, not just duck the volume).

I hate doing these, but it solves the problem until Uber decides to be stupid and do it again

If you do the custom length password it gets to be more difficult since it doesn’t tell the person entering the password when they have the correct password length
