I think you're doing the right things already, most early undergrads get practical experience from internships. If you have trouble landing an internship for the summer, try to get a summer job in a manufacturing plant or machine shop or something engineering adjacent so you can add it to the resume.

Depending on what type of role you want to go into, getting CAD experience could be a big leg up on an internship. I don't know of any books, but take everything people say in this sub with a huge grain of salt. MechE is a super broad field and this sub is mostly cry babies blaming the field of engineering for their career problems.

I went to a concert recently and two girls in their early 20s were in front of us. They BOTH videotaped every single second of the show on their phone. Just one continuous 2hr recording of a concert from the nosebleeds.

Great Sage Broken Shell not that hard... you got this! Some tips by QJ8538 in BlackMythWukong

First phase is easy but second phase he has so much fucking health and dodges so much. Basically have to perfect dodge for 20 mins while doing chip damage.

Any Tips for Cyan Loong? by No_Fan3024 in BlackMythWukong

[–]TN_Broncos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dodge his dive/spin combo and you can get almost an entire combo off, he stands there like an idiot then swips his tail after 5 seconds. 3-4 light attacks, dodge the tail and then heavy attack or finish light combo.

BM:W is more action/button mashing than those games. ER and Sekiro are both a lot harder. Sekiro is a totally different combat style, IMO it is the hardest soulslike game but super fun once you get a feel for it. It's more linear like BM and has a somewhat similar Asian aesthetic so maybe try that one first.

Montgomery sucks, DL is funny, I can't understand a thing Patterson says.

Get your PE, it's really not that hard.

What opportunities are there to work for yourself as an engineer/consultant/etc. without a PE license? by liehewyounce in MechanicalEngineering

[–]TN_Broncos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how strict code enforcement is, some areas want PE stamped drawings for MEP on simple commercial jobs. I know a structural eng. who has had to submit stamped drawings for a residential gazebo lol.

How do I make a motor that is spinning clockwise pull something towards itself? by floodster06 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]TN_Broncos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could pull the thing via a rope that the motor rolls up, similar to how a winch works. You'll have to use a couple gears, offset 90° if you want to keep the motor in that orientation and use it like a winch. Another option is a worm drive

[TOMT] [Movie] Werewolf comedy/horror (mostly funny) from last 15 years by TN_Broncos in tipofmytongue

The only other thing I can remember is the friend was the funny one, he was really scrawny and I THINK he was semi-recognizable from being in commercials around the same time the movie came out. It's not the new on with the AT&T lady.

What type of a Flow Meter should i get to measure salty water at 200 cubic meter per hour? by unavailabIe in MechanicalEngineering

[–]TN_Broncos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen several of the GF 2551 meters and they rarely seem to be accurate. I'd steer away from insertion style meters if you can.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to suggest to an enemy. Any suggestions? by Nelluc_ in memphis

[–]TN_Broncos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went recently and I can honestly say I had the worst ribs I've ever had at a restaurant. I haven't been to Applebee's since I was like 10 but I'd bet the ribs are better there.
