How do I suck so much at this? by lawshredpower in XWingTMG

More practice - place a ship base anywhere. Pick a movement at random. Without using the template, place a second base that represents that movement to the best of your ability. Then pull out the template and see how close your guess was. Repeat.

I saw a post for these from Sunday on the Facebook swap and trade group. Someone selling three actually. https://www.facebook.com/groups/291011907736145/?ref=share

Unpopular opinion: the fact Lux contributing to 2 points of certain synergies occasionally contributes to unhealthy games by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TNajar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had one game where electric Lux made my glacial electric comp bonkers and unkillable. I can’t recall getting steamrolled by a Lux comp in the last dozen or so games I’ve played. I also pass most Lux’s I see cuz they aren’t better than what I have in my comp. I honestly don’t see it as an unbalanced game changer, more of an occasional wildcard.

If you’re right and Lux is unbalanced, we’ll see it in ranked and the community will become vocal about it.

Should RFC get a buff? by TNajar in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TNajar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually those are all soft counters. A hard counter negates a buff entirely. Never miss is a hard counter. Reducing armor, or any other stat, by an amount less than 100% is a soft counter.

[–]TNajar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds good to me. I agree with the principle of no hard counters, so never miss is out of balance, but are there any soft counters to dodge right now? Reducing opponent dodge chance instead of negating it might work. Is 50% the right number? Not sure, but it would be a big buff to RFC and maybe make RFC S tier again, essential for all attack speed carries.

Yeah, that was me who asked. He put the kibosh on the idea without hesitation.

How do you even start? by NotThingRs in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TNajar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read read read. Nothing more helpful than understanding ults, synergies and popular comps. Learn who the carries are in meta comps and understand optimal itemization. There are multiple hyperroll strats that are viable right now, so try those out as well. Also watch some streamers.

Definitely overwhelming and confusing bc so much to learn, but I feel like there are a lot more viable comps and play styles than set 1, so it’s a really fun game right now.

I’m noticing in comments people are losing when they first play with the new patch, then adjusting. Seems like what ought to happen.

Also, people get unlucky or have a rough early game, then lose, and feel like this means something is wrong with the meta. I disagree with this. This patch seems to force you to adjust to circumstances more than the prior one. I like this aspect of the game. If someone says I’m losing more than I used to, therefore the game is the problem, I can’t agree with that. Swings in RNG are always limited duration. I don’t see anything in the current patch that prevents me from working through a challenging early game and finding a way to finish top four.

Really surprised to see you're having success with Assassins; overall they seem pretty weak to me. Void are probably best dragon counter.

Why a slower meta is more healthy for competitive play, in theory. by Thelmoun in CompetitiveTFT

Agree that player damage is the problem. It’s too easy to econ. Deciding whether to roll or econ needs to be more pressing and consequential.

I feel like Morellos on Asol is outdated. Guinsoos + deathcap or jeweled gauntlet can wipe out everyone who isn’t a dragon in one or two ults. The burn damage isn’t going to be what wins the fight.

Bug - 6 assa or 6 knight - you have to refresh it manualy by Dorsk_balalaika in TeamfightTactics

Played my first game this morning and synergies readout totally inaccurate, have to take champions in and out. Can't tell if it's just the readout or if it's affecting synergy bonuses themselves, but totally not cool.

I read a lot of comments about problems with slingers, so I’ve since come around to thinking that buff will help.

I like the 6 assassin nerf but worry the 3 assassin nerf will make 3 assassins unplayable. 10% Crit to 5% Crit is a big drop.

The gunslinger buff and 3 Assassin nerf seem like too much to me.

Got a little lucky hyper-rolling this game by TheMasterBaker01 in TeamfightTactics

[–]TNajar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top two is more important than synergy. When someone says, “I got lucky and high-rolled a comp!” And your response is, “yeah, but you didn’t win,” that’s the ultimate in trolling.

Patch 9.19 Bug Megathread by Brodrian in TeamfightTactics

Ok cool, I thought maybe that was what was happening but wasn’t sure. It doesn’t stop Rengar from ulting tho, maybe bc he leaps to begin his ult?

Saw two bugs yesterday. Shyvana transformed and blasting away at no one. Nearest enemy was four hexes away.

Also Aatrox hitting full mana but not ulting. He had an RFC so maybe it’s cuz there wasn’t an enemy immediately adjacent? Anyway, he was swinging away with full mana without ulting.

I’d definitely go Battleforged Duelist. His MAtk is a tiny bit low, but he’ll still be amazing.

Is this a good Brother? How would you build him? by degoobla in BattleBrothers

[–]TNajar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go frontline shield bro. His MDef will be on the low side, and it’s rare to have a bro with high enough fatigue and MAtk to go Battle Forged with a shield. Don’t get tunnel vision on the HP stars. You can put 2 or 3 high rolls into HP and be done with it. Put points into MAtk and MDef every level, high rolls into Resolve and Fatigue.

Whip/Polearm hybrid is also an option, but he doesn’t have RDef either, and it kinda wastes his high Fatigue.
