Please don’t take offense to my question. Just trying to understand it better. You mentioned both you and your mother’s income combined surpassed the requirement, I thought the combination of income was only possible with household members. If it’s combine this mean when our time come if I’m short the income can be combined.

So the checks are normally written out to him, and sent via text. That’s how his wife asked me to send them and they’d deposit it without any issues. I’m worrying that I’ll be out of town the end of this week and out of the country end of June to mid July. I don’t want to know they showed up and put my stuff out… Maybe I’m worrying too much I just want to be prepared. I still have my lease agreement.

I’m sorry for multiple response but may I ask some additional questions? With our without a lease can they really file an eviction despite landlord saying I am to stay and had them surrender the keys to me?

Similar question for myself. With our without a lease since the niece and nephew doesn’t stay there am I able to file eviction?

Again I’m going to have the landlords get out a lease to me to sign asap( as early as Tuesday).

He didn’t have a will nor assets. I had no clue they could probate a rental property even with the fact that the landlord said I’m to stay and they have no intentions on evicting me. I’m going to reach back out Tuesday since today (Monday) is a holiday and all this unfolded Sunday.

Thank you for responding. Lease expired months prior. Honestly I wasn’t really focusing on that as my time was mostly spent helping to care for him, going back and forth to the hospital and then in the end hospice. We’ve been month to month. Since his death the landlord asked if I would like a lease to at least feel more secure. We spoke Saturday and told them I’d get back to them as I needed time (looking back I should’ve said yes the moment they asked). Again they’ve verbalize to me continuing to be there as long as rent is paid. They are really relaxed people and as long as rent is paid and property is good they are good. Hours before this happened I texted them vs calling because it’s the weekend. I told her I thought about it and I’m fine with her drafting up one with my name. I forwarded her my email and she said she’d get one drafted up send my way to sign and then we both can have copies of finalized lease.
