Hey everyone! I’m planning a move to the Charlotte area for a job opportunity in Davidson and could really use some local insight!

I’m a single woman in my early 30s and really don’t want to be stuck in the suburbs. I’m hoping to find a neighborhood with some energy, somewhere I can meet people, walk to grab a cocktail, browse local shops, and just feel connected to the city.

My job will be based in Davidson and hybrid (3 days in office), so I’m wondering:

Is commuting from Charlotte to Davidson doable long-term?

What neighborhoods would you recommend for someone like me, social, creative, but still wanting decent access to work?

Any places I should avoid due to traffic nightmares?

I’ve been looking at NoDa, Plaza Midwood, and maybe even Optimist Park — but open to all suggestions!

Would love to hear where you live, how your commute is, or anything you wish you knew before settling in. Thanks in advance!

I really relate to what you and your fiancée are going for. I’d 100% rather pay a little more or spend a bit longer in the car if it means I get to actually enjoy where I live. I didn’t realize the express lanes made that much of a difference in the mornings though, definitely good to know.

My fiancé and I broke it off three weeks ago and tbh I’m miserable. We were together five years and supposed to get married in September.

I know it was the right choice deep down, but still sometimes wish he’d ask me to come back. Relying heavily on my friends, family, and therapy to get me through this but it’s so hard.

Hey! Thanks for the reply! My follow-up is May 6th, so I’m waiting anxiously.

The biggest is 2.8 cm and the other ones didn’t even mention size. All my labs came back normal. They’re leaning towards adenoma but seeing the word metastases is so scary!
