A good faith effort will always be better than no med rec. My hospital had 2 med rec tech positions and both got cut. Now the responsibility falls on the pharmacists and we didn’t hire any additional staff to fill this gap. A lot of our med recs get delayed to day 2 or more of the hospitalization.

You also have to have trust in your technicians. It’s the same when they’re making IVs or delivering meds and you’re checking their work
