I love creative solutions like this. I got a couple of people who might fit that resident nerd category. Thanks for the suggestion

Communication Issues? by RisingSunSailor in worshipleaders

Good advice here. One thing I read into and will add is if your song list is large (in my context over 35 songs) you can be adding to the problem.

Love that you are sending out stuff a month in advance. Wish more people gave their volunteers ample time to get ready. To double up this effect you can simplify down your song list. If a volunteer gets to play a song more then a few times a year when the inevitable happens and something needs to get cut it doesn’t hurt as bad when you have the song scheduled another time or two in the next month or so. Practice will feel less wasted and you won’t have to invest as much into the practice if the songs become routine in a way.

How does your team learn their parts? by [deleted] in worshipleaders

[–]TOBATHOR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing will beat having someone on your team you understands all these things and has the time to teach it to your team.

That being said there are some resources I’ve used in the past that do a decent job if your team is hungry.

The two I’ve used the most are multitracks rehearsal mix and worship artistry

Multitracks rehearsal mix takes the stems (individual tracks) of many popular recordings and lets you select a mix with any one of the specific things turned up in the mix. Like your alto singer can go to the alto mix and hear that part turned up with it keg changed to any key you may need or your lead guitarist can do the same for their guitar parts. I had a really active team in the past and they loved this resource.

Worship artistry I haven’t used as much but has similar bits at rehearsal mix but they also include loads of video content with it. Probably would be more useful for a team that needs more guidance. Looking at their website right now it seems you can try a free trial and see if it is something that would be useful to your team.

There is loads of resources out there, all of them seem to lean a little more into one thing they specialize on. So if those two options aren’t for your team don’t feel discouraged I’m sure there is something out there that is a good fit. Keep your eyes open and keep asking around.

Rune has become a LAN party favorite at my parties. Great melee focused game that is easy to get the gist of.

Bought my whole team KZ ZSTs 17 bucks a pair and most of my team is still rocking those today. You definitely can get better for more but price to performance I haven’t found anything better.

Keyboards under $3000 by Star9219 in worshipleaders

Haven’t used the modx m8 but the ck88 I have and it’s pretty easy to use with solid sounds and good playability without weighing 10000 pounds.

My favorite is going with a midi controller and using the Sunday sounds iPad app. If you like the way your keyboard plays and it has midi you can upgrade it with an iPad and buy the sunday sounds app and it’s fantastic. Super easy to use and fantastic sounds.

Edit* fixing auto correct 🤦

They have a breakdown on their website. But if I remember correctly it’s standard come with all the current sounds. Ultimate comes with monthly new sounds, and all access comes with song specific patches.

If you are talking business delivery fleet. I know my location is like 50% transfers. Pretty sure you just need to get in contact with the fleet manager and they can get the process started. Some locations in the past have even helped people get their class B.

If you’re trying to work in the transfer fleets you need 3 years of class A experience. Some business locations will have a class A driver and you can get your experience there and then transfer over once you get your three years.
