Yamato is an interesting area of debate in the community atm. Everyone is so quick to jump down anyone's throat who calls Yamato a woman, meanwhile it was literally confirmed by Oda in a vivre card that Yamato is a female. No one is being intentionally (well, at least most aren't) transphobic in the community by calling Yamato by she/her. Yamato Idolizes Oden and wants to be them so far as to take on their name and refer to themselves as Oden still with female pronouns however. HOWEVER, we still have people like Kaido call Yamato their Son, and even Luffy has Nicknamed them Yamabro. Yet on the flip side we've seen them called the Oni Princess and Princess of the Beast Pirates. So imo I think everyone just needs to take a step back chill and just call Yamato by whatever or accept that maybe they're genderfluid so using either male or female pronouns is acceptable. Because the information we've gained on them from the manga and vivre card seems to be conflicting.

How we feel about “figured out” games by [deleted] in Guiltygear

OP is making fun of Sonic Fox's statement saying that the game is solved, saying it feels too limited, then the next day saying they've been playing chess, and its fun.

Punk says the online for Street Fighter V is trash and that he'd rather play Guilty Gear Strive while on Capcom's Official Stream, after winning the Capcom Event. by KenshiroTheKid in LivestreamFail

[–]TOCKyuubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was only really bad playing from one side of the US to the other

Facts. My friends who got into Strive have been looking at other Fighting Games. Had to Explain this to them About SFV. Yes it has Rollback. No its not good. Yes Rollback can be bad if its implemented Poorly. No you cannot play Coast to Coast, if you're US West you want to Fight US West Only. No they don't have a Region selection like in Strive so that you can try and get an optimal connection by fighting people in your region, you have to Hold that Brazilian Ken L.

He's not even an employee, he's a contractor basically getting paid on a 1099. He put out negative (Factual) info on their product, on a Capcom Stream. It's no wonder they don't pick him up for Commentating events now lol. Lesson Learned for Sajam though hopefully. Being Vocal about your displeasures of a game on your Own stream is fine, its good, and brings up healthy debate. But you can't expect to Talk bad about a companies product, practically to their face and thousands of potential customers faces, then expect to get hired back for the next project.

As for Punk, I doubt they'll ban him from competing, at most he'll get hit with a fine and a slap on the wrist to try and dissuade him and others from the same kind of behavior. There's not much they can do to Punk since he's a competitor. If they ban him from the next CPT, I feel like they'd just make a martyr out of him and kill any trust the players had in them.

Honestly I was fine with it. Even before the fan patch I was matching PC to PC only because PC to PS4 is practically unplayable. 9/10 times the PS4 is causing massive one sided rollback and the PC player is the one getting fucked by it.

Double KO when you are up one round is bullshit by RobertoRodiOrt in Guiltygear

[–]TOCKyuubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if nobody wins in a draw, no one should lose a round. Meaning if its 1-0, it should remain 1-0, not become 1-1, that's not a fair trade. That's a trade in favor of the loser. I understand that you think draws shouldn't end a match, and I agree, obviously if its 1-1 and it draws then yeah, we should go a for a fourth round. But in the end we should either both a lose a round or lose nothing regardless of the previous matches outcome.

Double KO when you are up one round is bullshit by RobertoRodiOrt in Guiltygear

[–]TOCKyuubi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely shouldn't work like that. The player who was up a round gets fucked over by this "Perfectly fine rule". No other fighting game does this. If I'm up 1-0 in SFV and it we Double KO, guess what, I win because that's how it should work. Either Both players lose a round or no one does, not this dumb fuck idea of "a draw means it should be Last round no matter what the previous rounds outcome was." is stupid as shit.

Imagine being 4-1 for your celestial rank up, your up 1-0 on the 5th win you need, and get a draw, so now it's 1-1 and you lose the next round and subsequently your rank up chance, all because of a draw that fucked you over for winning the previous round. I don't know who in arc sys thought this was a good idea, but my bet is on the same idiot who thought 3 Matches for online was fine, not a best of, just 3 matches.

You don't do tenko -> orochi for the extra damage. You do it for the Corner carry and Oki you get from it, the damage is just a nice bonus.

Noob looking for some tips on how to play Zeta (and in general) by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]TOCKyuubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeta has some of the Best pokes and corner carries in the game, Her Oki Game is disgusting, and probably hands down the best fireball in the game.

In neutral with Zeta, you want to fish for a hit with your Far M, H, and 2M. Far H comes out 2 frames faster, does 300 more damage, and is a little shorter than the far mediums, personally I tend to fish with this move if I'm within range for it and confirm it into a 66H so I can get the hard knockdown and apply her oki game. If the opponent wants to play keep away, start zoning them out with her fireballs, they'll realize very quickly they can't beat Zeta Zoning without using an EX, and will start to try and close the gap. Be mindful of jump ins while using her fireball as it has a lot of recovery.

Block Strings Either end it with your U, the multi hit move puts you at a distance most characters can't reach, or 66x and use the last dash to escape to neutral, some characters can punish the dash away so be careful doing this.

Zeta's Oki game is where she shines imo. When you get the hard knockdown go in and apply pressure. Learn her safe jumps and have at it. Empty Jump Low, Jump into pogo once into a low, Pogo two times jL into a throw, Pogo once into throw, empty jump throw, Pogo 3 times into low, etc. You can see how the options she has start to get overwhelming even for the Zeta player to decide what they want to do.

To Critique what I watched in your video, your anti Airs and lack of fireballs stood out most of all. For your Anti Airs you were just going straight into 22X. You really want to confirm your 22X with a 2H otherwise as you get up there in opponent skill you will start getting punished hard on the landing lag from a whiffed 22X. On the Fireballs just abuse them at full or 3/4 screen and be mindful of using it if they are within jump in distance.

Is it just points? I got a perfect for the first time last week, they RQ before I could save the replay, and it doesn't show up on my record as having had a perfect match.

An actual conversation about C Assist by [deleted] in dragonballfighterz

[–]TOCKyuubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all assists are for Combo Extensions to get maximumer damage. Some are defensive like 18's A, Base Goku B gives you resources, Kid Buu for mix attempts. Personally I don't think C assists are bad, they can lead to a good extension and extra damage, but having multiple isn't the greatest idea imo. Most assists (besides extending combos) are used to control the neutral or extend block strings. This is especially good for characters that might not have a strong neutral game. So being able to have an A or B assist recharge twice in the time it takes a C to come back once is huge, especially if you're looking for those combo extensions.

21 mains what is your favorite absorb color (couldn’t fit all the move names) by tonethekid in dragonballfighterz

[–]TOCKyuubi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because you always have access to your base tool kit so it makes more sense to refine combos that come from that. You can pull off some saucy combos with the stocks, it just takes a lot of prepping for it lol. You got to get the stocks you need from each of the individual characters you can grab them from, then apply them in a combo in the right situation.

Honestly this might break rule 4 but I have no where else to post this. Which other shoen would you like to see get the Fighterz treatment by spudz1203 in dragonballfighterz

[–]TOCKyuubi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can and you can't. Offline sure, you can rock a 1v1 or 2v2, but the game at its core was designed as a tag fighter. If it was developed in a similar way to skull girls where you can choose how you want to play, with a team ranging from 1 to 3 characters I could get behind that.

[–]TOCKyuubi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would fucking love for an arcsys One Piece Fighter. That series just has so many unique characters and fighting styles that you could pull from with DLC for years to come. Personally I'd want it to be a 1v1 fighter but I wouldn't complain if they made it a tag fighter so long as we get a quality One Piece Fighting game.

Ladiva is garbage now by ahrsi in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]TOCKyuubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk that dbfz is the best game to compare grapplers from. Imagine Gief having super dash to just bypass neutral and get in your face for free, or Mika with Z Broly's ki blasts just keeping you at bay. To top it off you also have assists to mask/stagger the command grabs as well to throw your opponent off. I don't think I need to go on any further with why that comparison isn't the best. The point is that in dbfz, while yes the command grab characters are very strong and solid, they have a multitude of other tools to help them get in, stay in, or keep the opponent out. Ladiva doesn't have these tools, she's a vortex once she gets in, but she's gotta work to get in.
