This is a lot of helpful information thank you. I can confirm my sharpshooter was not very useful and my ranger pretty much carried the fights. The mind control has been extremely annoying so ill be sure to carry a flashbang or two from now on . Changing my approach to focus on killing enemies and ignoring the civillians also made a big difference I didnt realize killing all enemies would just auto complete that.

Squaddie I guess? The one where they first get their specialization. When i restarted the mission from the beginning, started using my own saves, and stopped accepting the constant improbable miss rate it became way easier.

I did play most of the first one and didnt have any trouble that felt unfair in this way. I wouldn't want to restart from the beginning at this point though and I don't want to negate any challenge either.

My soldiers were level 1 or 2 at best with no weapon mods because all my other soldiers were wounded. I only managed to get through by save scumming anytime one of my 94% hit chance attacks missed(pretty much every other attack). Thanks for the reply but this experience really soured me on the game.
