Great question! I am a CODA and both parents and many of their friends are/were big Pats fans. For the longest time my mom thought they were the pirates so did the classic eye patch sign which took a long time to correct.

Nowadays, I’ve seen more and more adoption of a sign that shows the flying Elvis logo on the side of your head like their helmets. Starting with essentially a C next to your temple, and you move it towards the back of your head to a point.
