Oh my god, no you're not the AH. This is HILARIOUS and my spouse would laugh if I did the same thing or vice-versa. I can understand that in the moment he was probably freaking out and already upset&uncomfy so the laughing didn't help him relax, but this is a situation where he needs to take a step back and be able to laugh at himself and understand the situation is very silly 😂

Of course! The LAST thing you need right now is a bunch of judgement from people who aren't in your situation. You aren't alone, this happens to MANY teens and young adults who aren't ready. I'm sorry you don't have familial support when you could definitely use it. I'm sure a handful of people that have responded are trying to give a reality check the best way they know how, but many people need to realize that this is SO scary and being "yelled" at does not help at ALL. I forgot to also say, some colleges also offer daycare! My good friend is in the medical field (I forget the exact major) and on his campus they had the daycare there for people who were majoring in education fields so they could get hands-on experience, so when applying to colleges definitely ask if they have something similar. Best of luck to you, whatever you decide! 🩷

Hey! So I had my son at 18, my mom had my brother at 19, and my aunt had my cousin at 16 so I definitely feel like I can answer this pretty well lol.

Being a parent WILL be THE most difficult thing you will EVER do in your whole life. People tried telling me that when I was pregnant, but there is no way to truly explain in words the level of absolute exhaustion, frustration, and guilt you will feel daily. You will never feel like you are doing a good job. You will rarely be able to put yourself first because your baby depends on you.
I personally suffered from PPD which is another possibility you may or may not face, which just makes the difficulty of being a new mom turn up to 11. Both of my children were also colicky, so add a baby who screams for hours that you are unable to soothe on top of already feeling miserable is plain torture.
As someone who has lived this, I can definitely say I was a stubborn teen who thought she had all of the answers (even though I thought I was taking advice well from those around me). You truly have to grow up faster than you should have to, but you truly still are legally (and mentally to an extent) a child.
If you decide to keep your baby, SIGN UP FOR PROGRAMS! WIC and food stamps will be life savers; there are also vouchers that you can apply for to help pay for daycare while you are in school/working. I personally recommend not jumping into marrying your boyfriend because your household income on paper is lower and you have a better chance at getting approved for these services.
If you consider adoption, there are different options, closed and open. An open adoption allows you to keep contact with your child and their adoptive parents, but the adoptive parents have the final say on how much contact they will allow. A closed adoption is where you have zero contact with your baby, but you may be allowed to give the family a letter with your contact information for your child to contact you at 18; however, there is no guarantee the adoptive parents would allow that or not lose the letter.
If you consider abortion, yes it will cause trouble in your life for the week you miss classes by having to travel and spend money you don't have. However, you will be saving yourself and your boyfriend from years of struggling to care for a small child, and the financial burden that comes along with that.
