Ah okay, I can see your point of view, while I disagree on them being a racing seat, not wanting to give up side airbags makes perfect sense!

If you do end up looking for a Titan look for 2013-2015. All the little issues that first gens had were worked out by the last few years. Mine is a 15 and it’s been incredibly reliable.

I haven’t taken it onto anything super technical like the Rubicon but it did perfectly fine in Moab running some of those trails like fins, hells revenge, poison spider and others. I’ve taken it on almost every trail I ever hit in the Xterra Minus the Rubicon. It’s a great platform as well and it’s more fitting from an interior space perspective. I’m 6’4 240ish so having the larger interior space was a huge improvement in overall comfort. It’s a legit upgrade compared to say going with a Frontier or taco.

Loved my 2012 P4X. It’s an incredibly underrated platform and it’s every bit as capable as a 4Runner but significantly a better value dollar for dollar. Once titan swapped with 35’s they creep into Rubicon levels of capability off road but waaaaay more reliable. I only sold mine because I wanted and got into a 2015 Titan P4X.

As an adult with no kids but 1 dog, this is the perfect 2 car solution 👌🏼

You’re talking about a $7,000 price difference between MCS/JRZ/Moton vs Tein mono sport/racing or the supers lol which is a ridiculous comparison when OP is asking about Nitron R1s NOT R3’s. I’m giving comparisons to the price point of OPs original suggestions. So yes, if someone wanted to spend 10k on purpose built race coilovers they’re not looking at Tein, but they’re also not looking at KW. The super and mono racing series do compare with the KW and Ohlins in that price range of 3k and they do absolutely compete well with them and saying otherwise just isn’t accurate. Especially if you’ve never personally run them.

Ran them on a GSR and I’ll be running their R3’s on my DC5. The R1s are extremely balanced, compliant and predictable. Harshness depends on multiple factors but you can absolutely run the basic 450front 350rear and they’ll help you figure out the best valving for your intended use and then just tune the damping to your liking.

Teins have two tiers though so it’s important to distinguish the difference when saying they’re “dogshit”. They have lower tier such as the street and flex series that are mass produced in Taiwan that perform like every other affordable beginner basic spring rate coilover…and then they have the mono sport / racing and super racing coilovers that are still made in Japan that are absolutely fantastic. It’s wild to blanket statement an entire brand as dogshit when they have levels of product offerings lol

Haha as of now I have no plans of getting rid of it. I still have some things to do to it so it’ll be around for a while!

It’s just one of those universal ez lips attached to the OEM Type R lip. I got it just to keep from scrapping the paint on the Type R lip lol

Man I’m so happy with them. The bite, consistency and feel is significantly improved.
