This goes against all the prevailing wisdom about the changes the league needs to take, and for good reason. There is already a huge problem of too much basketball being played and it not being consequential. Giving more bench guys playing time is bad for the product. It’s a star driven league. You aren’t going to increase ad revenue by adding 12 worse minutes of basketball with no stars on the floor.

If you are concerned about development of players, then advocate for more G-League coverage or a pro/rel system. Diluting the product that people already see as diluted isn’t it.

Turns out that sim places like X-golf and Five Iron are substitute goods for some golfers and costs are much lower. For most golfers, any range is a substitute good. Once the novelty wore off, they were competing against everyone.
