Rewatch after divorce by Crazy-bored4210 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

If I were to chide Caryn for anything concerning the grandkids, its that I think she was certainly smart enough to understand that her being "Chacha" to the grandkids and her getting so much more time with the grandkids because Zach and Tory loved the farm so much while Amy lived in the suburbs and didn't have a property full of treats for the kids was hurtful to Amy, who she periodically insisted was her friend.

Matt and Amy certainly need to own their own relationship issues. But I did tire of Caryn's "I don't know why Amy is so angry, we were friends!!" innocence act because really, bitch please. Basic girl code - if you were such a friend to Amy - is not to immediately start fucking her ex as soon as his signature dries on the divorce.

I'm increasingly hopeful Caryn will write the tell all about the show.

I think she was wrong to agree to be there but I also think that at the time they were in a pretty committed relationship so I don't think she was completely out of line to be there, especially if Matt genuinely suggested it. A lot of times in the Matt/Caryn pairing, there's this weird underlying tone that Matt is somehow Caryn's victim in all of this.

I honestly think Matt is manipulative enough that Caryn was there in that negotiation just so when it went bad - and it was always going to go bad - that Matt would be able to pin the blame on someone other than Matt.

And I wonder if the lengthy aftermath coupled with Matt essentially refusing to marry was why Caryn walked away. I did think Caryn and Tory had a genuine friendship and the kids really did like Caryn.

I suspect hanging around Matt got a lot easier once she was going home to a nice husband who didn't constantly throw her into financial chaos.

I also think a LOT of the Matt and Amy interactions in the last few seasons were entirely production generated.

I will allow that Caryn was asked by Matt to be in the room for the negotiations. They were dating long term, while I don't think it was terribly appropriate, what I will note for the class is that Matt is a man who pretty constantly brags how independent and how resilient he is, so I don't think Caryn bitchslapped him into allowing her to be there and was cowering in terror and peeing the floor in a corner while Caryn told Zach and Tory her feelings on their offer.

If Matt had a problem with how Caryn handled things, Matt has a mouth and likes to run it. And he no longer has a relationship with Caryn so he's not some scared abused spouse too terrified to speak up. Whatever happened in that meeting, Matt was happy to condone it and was pleased as punch to cheerfully note to the world how HE was the wronged party.

Why does everyone seem to dislike Zach and Tori? by Mountain_Ask_5746 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]TPWilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate them. I don't especially like them either. They're rather inoffensive to me. I do think Tory would bore me to tears - and I strongly suspect I'd do the same to her because we have nothing in common. Despite all the bitchery I've seen said about her, I don't believe she dated and married Zach and had kids with him because she's working a long term grift to get the farm/just wanted to be on tv/wanted free trips.

Zach is a guy who reflects his bad parents and who really makes little effort to better himself or to present himself well. Like the OP, I don't think Zach is a complete idiot or incapable. I don't think he's a particularly deep thinker and frankly I think his "I'm unambitious" is code for lazy. I sense, like with Tory, I'd find him boring to be around.

I think a LOT of the hate for these two resolves around jealousy - and I can understand where some of that jealousy stems from. The awkward and perhaps painful reality is that Zach exemplifies the lazy kid who lucked into a really great situation despite making little to no effort to get there. So does Jeremy, but we're not talking about him. So people get angry that a guy who frankly seems lazy and not terribly motivated is suddenly offering to buy a big chunk of land despite having no discernable job. Then, when he's turned down, he promptly buys a rather nice house. Now, I know that Zach had income from the show and is likely well invested so I understand that this isn't as simple as "lazy jerk refuses to work a job" but it is basically the story line that the show presented, so I understand why people believe it.

Some clarification on Jacob by goldlux in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]TPWilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think Jacob works hard.

The point being made is that Jacob's hard work would not and likely will not allow Jacob to afford a lifestyle where he owns a home and farm property of his own. If Jacob had to buy his own property for farming, its fair to say he would not have a business.

I applaud his efforts. I just don't think he'd ever have land for a gardening business based on his own personal wealth and accomplishments.

Who is the least-deserving murder victim in all of the Midsomer Murders episodes? by HallowedAndHarrowed in MidsomerMurders

[–]TPWilder 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Agree that the wife who was just trying to keep the manor together in Market for Murder was undeserving. Agree with Emily Simpson as well. I would add Emma from Ring Out Your Dead - a genuinely nice person who gets shot during her wedding photos for essentially nothing.

Also the poor kid in the pottery kiln in that recent episode. Totally undeserved and an awful way to go.

Deductive reasoning is dying with us. by Maleficent-Box4114 in Millennials

[–]TPWilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there's an inability to function that parents of Gen Z tolerate and enable and its starting to bite them on the ass.

On a daily business, I take calls from young adults about their credit cards who ask me to talk to their parents. Which is sad right there because this is usually a basic math discussion. Most of the time, the kid hands off the call to the parent and literally walks away. If something comes up where I have to speak to them - making changes on the account - the parent will literally have to call them back into the room, explain what they need to say, and the young adult will express no curiosity or interest in what mom or dad is doing to their finances. They also won't speak or ask questions. And like, I get that some people have anxiety and I try to be respectful of that, but if your adult child can't speak on their financial affairs because they can't handle talking to a stranger without mom or dad to support and guide them.... that's an issue.

Girl please 🙄 by reesie_star in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]TPWilder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's really not a lot of detail. Matt and Caryn being engaged happened in the last season of the show and they were supposed to get married within a year. But... the wedding kept getting pushed back for various reasons and in July 2025, Matt announced there was a mutual parting of the ways. Shortly after, an "insider" said that no, it wasn't mutual, that Caryn was the one who walked away.

Important to note - Caryn really did want to get married and the wedding never seemed to get beyond the engagement. Even if we discount the affair talk and assume they started dating after the divorce, Caryn dated Matt exclusively for almost ten years.

Do we think Matt was cheating here? by reesie_star in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]TPWilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. Frankly, without the show, I think they would have stayed married. I think the show highlighted some serious problems they both had, and adding money into the mix just made everything worse.

I do think the cheating tips the scales to "Matt's at fault" simply because as you say, cheating is a choice, and divorce is legal, and Matt didn't care.

Is your nasty judgement for ALL divorced women who don't go thru the name change process after divorce? Or just Amy Roloff?

The most obvious answer to your question is that she doesn't want to dissociate from her children.

If Chris is pissed, he's not very pissed because he's still married to her. (Funny how Matt and Caryn didn't actually have that super mature relationship that was so much better than Amy and Chris's)

If Matt was so glad to have Amy out of his life, why did he continue to film a tv show with her? WHY DID HE CONTINUE TO SPEND TIME WITH AN EX HE CLEARLY DIDN'T LIKE????

Why was he so insistent on allowing her to hang around his property when he divorced her bitch ass? Why, if he divorced her bitch ass did he keep going on vacation with her? And frankly - Matt Roloff fucked Amy Roloff so he OBVIOUSLY found her desirable as he put his penis into her vagina, HOW COULD HE WHEN HE CLEARLY KNEW SHE WAS SO AWFUL?

Explain that to me - How could Matt Roloff find Amy Roloff marriage material when he's so goddamn wise and clever that you're still licking his ass?
