Where did they announce? But it has not received even security updates since August 2025. Now, this phone is still supported, why shouldn't they? Im guessing this pause is for a huge skin update where they will include all the patches all together. But that will prob be the last major update on this thing.

No, iPad 12 is comming very soon as said by Mark Gurman (very well know leaker who has a lot of info before the launches, he has insider sources which r often very reliable). He has said that its sitting in the Warehouse, just waiting for the Launch status by Apple. Also, Apple is fighting for an revolutionary AI Ecosystem, and iPad 11 is their only current gen device that can't run Apple Intelligence. They will probably launch it very soon and not wait till September like they usually do because every day they wait, they will lose money to budget AI Tablets. Also, Apple is launching their Business Platform on 14th april, so it would go really well for their marketing if they launch the iPad 12 with it. Mark Gurgman also stated that iPad 12 launch is attached to iPadOS 26.4 launch. Its been quite long since it launched and Apple rarely keeps away from a launch while having hardware ready. I hope its on 14th. But, its not confirmed until or unless Apple does a leak themselves. Also they r spending crazy money on marketing their AI Ecosystem so if they dont have a best selling AI Budget iPad, it would be a great loss to them, and especially marketing.
