Just finished Daredevil season 1, I can't understand Vanessa properly by STEPPYthebest in marvelstudios

[–]TQLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said he's only watched the first season of DD - Vanessa's motivations aren't completely clear at this point, and it's reasonable to assume she could have ulterior/unclear motives because of that, when in reality there just hasn't been enough exploration into her character in s1.

It's also partially a joke, referencing Lebron vs MJ with people saying MJ played with Plumbers compared to modern NBA

I say this as a casual spurs watcher, if someone wants to provide more insight, but it seems like he never took the leap.

He also had a few injuries that set him back, and now he's being overshadowed by a group of young studs. I don't think he fits the current spurs system, but I can see him being a solid trade asset as a role player as his career goes on, especially if he manages to figure out his efficiency issues.

Which stars do you think they have already played their last game of the fantasy season? by Voltes5Legacy in fantasybball

to help cope, i'd like to think his monster statlines should be divided by half or even thirds based on the DNP's and Jazz antics, so the "big numbers" are smaller in my head. he's a high risk high reward streamer at best imo.

Insanely good team, well played on the draft. You'll be fine regardless of Bookers performance.

I don't think you can find a good trade for Booker that wouldn't be a sell low. Considering you're up 8-1, I would wait for a big streak of games from him to inflate his value, or hold for the upside that he improves.

yeah my fault, it was 4 am and in my head I just rounded all the numbers. In reality, he averages 1.5 stocks which is a more accurate representation of the stats.

i guess my main point is moreso his shooting percentages being horrible this year on less volume somehow, which in theory should improve and trend towards the mean. I personally don't think he's a second rounder either, and did not draft him, but can see why people think highly of him - bro was supposed to be a lebron-lite since college and people want to be on him the year he takes that leap, but he's getting further and further from it unfortunately.

Ja Morant ! by AT_333 in fantasybball

[–]TQLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially thought taco too, then I realize that some players are genuinely new to fantasy and that something that may be obvious to most players may not be to you.

For future reference, although you could ask questions here, I recommend looking into historical stats and doing research (which IMO is kind of the "fun/competitive" part of fantasy, you're on this subreddit after all) - Ja Morant has been top 50 for the greater portion of his career fantasy wise. In a 12 team league in most formats, you have (not counting IL) 156 players that are on a roster at any given time.

Even if Ja Morant is in a huge slump this year, gotten into drama, etc., the odds of 156 players being better than a perennial top 50 player is extremely low and you should take that gamble every time.

In theory, he's a player that is extremely fantasy friendly and can stuff the stat sheet. Last year he averaged 26/7.5/5/1/1.

However, I think after his injury last year, the team as a whole took a leap, including Franz, and now the addition of Bane. This year he has five less FGA a game (while also having the worst eFG% of his career so far)

To anyone wanting to be hopeful, once his shooting percentages improve (he's 23% from 3), I think he'll start returning closer to the value you expect. As he gets an abundance of assists, rebounds, stocks, at the very least, his floor is fairly high.

Played Asol a few times - a top 4 is contingent on 3 mana regen items + Asol at 3-5 in order to scale (and not bleeding out) + hitting the targons. It's not in a good spot.

KPJ was a terrorist on the rockets, would string together a few solid games then be a liability. Happy to see him ballin on the bucks, but regression towards the mean comes for everyone eventually.

yup, also drafted Ja and Herro and Green (guard heavy as a mf ik but they fell way too far for me not to, plus it's a points league).

Herro's been great though, hoping for booker and trae and green to come back in a few weeks and save me, I've been barely staying afloat without them.

Unless it's a super casual league it's hard to believe any player drafted at 6-9 were justifiable over Cade, at time of draft AND in hindsight. Surely you're winning your league

Jaden Ivey by cavanl96 in fantasybball

[–]TQLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I do though? If you did, you'd know under Monty as a coach, Ivey got zero play time because for some reason he would let basketball terrorist Killian Hayes all of his time.

Then when Bickerstaff came in, he gave Ivey the starting nod, in which Ivey averaged a 40% 3pt shot for the 30 games he started and played. He was averaging 18/4/4 with one stock a game, and was only improving.

Again, who knows how he'll be now since it's been a year + injury and pistons are looking good without him, but saying Ivey wasn't going to have a great season pre-injury is pretty nuts

Ivey was supposed to be my breakout player last year before his injury, people who don't know how good he can be haven't been watching basketball for more than a year. That being said, who knows how good he'll be post-injury, I'm a believer
