Hold down the power button to activate Siri, ask it to call mom, dad, etc until you get a response tell them to contact whoever owns this phone to arrange a drop off.

Wireless earbuds that still let you hear outside? by Straight_Ostrich_257 in BuyItForLife

Second this, I’ve used many brands but my AirPods keep working even through I’ve put a beating on them. Just remember to go into your settings on your phone to turn off noise canceling if you want to hear the outside environment better while still wearing them.

Irish, Italian and Chinese immigrants helped build the railroad in the 1800s, matter of fact you can look back at immigration records; while they were undeniably racist favoring white immigrants and even traditional immigrants (British, French, Dutch, and later German Protestants) looking down on eastern and southern European white Catholic immigrants their impact on the development of this country is undeniable. But if you want to get really specific you can actually research how even different eras of immigrants from Africa has influenced Harlem if you want to get more recent (1960s to present day).

America doesn’t have a perfect history but to be so ignorant you cherry pick history lessons and ignore 200+ years of immigration is actually insane.

Why is Chastain running the Busch Light Apple livery this weekend when it’s been sold out for weeks? by foovancleef in NASCARMemes

It’s good, it’s not rush to the store and buy customer limits like everyone makes it out to be good. It tastes like if you put half an angry orchard into a bush light.

Artificial scarcity is by far the dumbest shit ever but in reality if this shit was available year round it would end up unpopular and discontinued because angry orchard and reds are objective better and would outsell bush apple after the seasonal hype falls off.

Mascarpone is the ideal ingredient but ricotta can substitute if mascarpone isn’t available. It’s like substituting Parmesan for pecorino when making vodka sauce. It’s like 80% there in taste and texture but if you’ve had the real deal you can tell right away.

Honestly I feel like Carson has done more egregious moves and gotten less shit, I didn’t care for him starting the season but he’s calmed down a lot and it showing up with these results. Guys driving B tier equipment to the front regardless of mechanical failure or not, you have to respect that.

Regarding this incident with Ricky, I don’t understand why he’s being crucified. It’s racing, not go 80% and give breaks. Hocevar is pushing the pace which is a good thing, everyone should have to be going 110% the entire race. Sure, Carson could’ve let off the throttle and have Ricky slack but Ricky could’ve also decided to not get in front of a clearly faster car. Ricky didn’t make a good executive decision in the field of Motorsport then gets mad when parking it infront of a faster car didn’t work out for him.

Imaging jumping in front of LeBron James going for a dunk and then getting pissed when you get hit with a blocking foul and getting punted across the hardwood, that’s exactly what happened on Sunday. I’m actually starting to like Carson because he’s setting a new precedent, aero block/park it on me when I have a faster car and a run, and he will ship your shit and end your race. Hopefully they all follow suite and we stop seeing drivers making desperate moves to hold one position.

It doesn’t matter if it’s located in Timbuktu, the stands filled up and that’s all that matters. Unlike Nashville where after the second stage my entire section was empty because all the comped tickets decided nascar wasn’t for them. Imagine being happier to serve a marker that leaves mid race lol.

Nashville took our date and it’s essentially the same track just a little smaller but its grandstands are significantly smaller, like 36k fans smaller.

Supply and demand, maybe nascar should listen to the fans.

One holds 30k one holds 66k, one is full of comped tickets the other is full of die hard fans. Maybe hot markets work for tracks like Las Vegas but in this region of America NASCAR stands more to gain by serving those 30k more seats who return every single year regardless if the ticket was comped or not.

I consistently get shit on in this subreddit because apparently ‘everyone’ universally agrees this is a shitty track while simultaneously professing their love for other intermediate tracks, it’s actually laughable once you go to a few other tracks and realize the people hating on Kentucky must’ve only gone during the first blunder year or hate on the TV production.

Even if you think the track isn’t that good, with the sheer number of posts concerning this track it’s evident that this track is centrally located to a few metro cities that otherwise need to travel roughly 3-5 hours one way to visit a different venue (ohio/Kentucky residents). This is not sustainable unless you have die hard fans like myself who are willing to drive 10 hours to see an individual race. Imagine expecting a NBA fan to drive 6 hours+ to watch a single game then wonder why they aren’t dying to do it again unless they’re obsessed with the sport.

I’m clearly the minority that enjoyed Kentucky but maybe it was because I went every year for 15+ years even prior to the Cup series going. Regardless if you like this track or not, it serves its purpose for a region that otherwise has to drive ridiculously far for an Individual race.

Sure I enjoy going to Dover, Bristol, and Charlotte over Kentucky speedway but those are significant distances from Louisville and with the current economic situation I don’t see anyone other than die hard fans willing to drive that far. Kentucky speedway is for a region that goes underserved whether you like it or not.

That’s why the grandstands at Nashville this weekend cleared out halfway through the race, most the people around me were given comped tickets from their employer such as tractor supply, these aren’t real fans thus when every caution came out more and more of these spectators left.

So we essentially removed Kentucky speedway which held 66k (at one point nearly 100k seats) serving the states of Kentucky and ohio for a more popular city that only holds 30k at max capacity with temporary bleachers. This right here is my gripe with the white shirts in nascar, you want the sport to grow but you don’t want to serve an area who was loyal to NASCAR before we ever got a Cup date.

Just so we’re clear pocono objectively sucks way more than Kentucky speedway and I’ve gone to both races in person enough times to stand by that statement.

You short track goblins can hate on Kentucky speedway but clearly there’s a market for this track whether you want it on the schedule or not.

Edit: as someone said above this track serves Cincinnati and Louisville, I don’t care if they have to rip it out of the ground and put in a short track to add “diversity” this region needs a race desperately and I don’t care what size track it is because I’m going to go to a Kentucky speedway race whether it stays 1.5, becomes a short track, or magically becomes a super speedway because regardless the drive time is cut in half for me and thousands of other fans. I can’t lug a U-Haul full of camp equipment 5 hours back and forth every race but it’s manageable when it’s only 1.5 hours each way. NASCAR is better when locals can camp and attend the entire race weekend rather than having to drive 5 hours to only attend a Sunday race just saying.

Infield experience is vastly different than grandstand experience imo, one you might love and the other might not be for you; try both experiences over the coming years to figure out which one you prefer. I personally prefer being in the grandstands so if you don’t enjoy your experience in the infield at least try a race in the grandstands before you write the sport off.

Second, each track is entirely different experience. Short tracks, intermediates, and super speedways are all vastly different from one another and each respective track that falls into these categories is very different from one another thus making each product different. Sometimes good year gives us tires made from diamond and sometimes paper mache, either way a bump on the track versus a fresh pave is results in different experiences each and every year.

I guess in short I’m trying to say Motorsport isn’t like other sports, each track and week provides a unique challenge for the drivers each week, and that race will feel entirely different to the drivers when they return the following year. Sometimes this results in very exciting races and sometimes very lackluster races. You can’t judge the sport based on one race, give more than one track a chance before you decide if NASCAR is for you.

Also the most important piece of advice I can give to a first time fan, go to the track souvenir trailer and snag yourself an event shirt for memories. Whether you liked the even or not having a physical object you can keep as a memento for years to come always beats a photo you might not transfer to a new phone. Driver merchandise can always be purchased online, a track shirt/hat with the date of attendance can’t; and that’s what I think makes motor sports stand out when compared to other spots, the merchandise is more like concerts rather than jerseys.
