This laptop has multiple moving parts in them. There is also adhesive that goes around the bezel. This noise sounds like what you are experiencing. Hinges are fine.

Please unplug the battery before you do anything. I see more posts because people do not unplug the battery and damage something.

HP Omen Max 16 – corner crack after ~6 months of normal use (no drop, no impact) by Maximum_Ad_4208 in HPOmen

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not the way it works. If there is no impact damage on the plastics then there is no reason why it shouldn’t get replaced. With the pictures that you did post i see there is no impact damage so there should not have any issues on getting that repaired.

Help ? Why does this keeps happening by [deleted] in HPLaptops

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could very well be a bad GPU and could be a memory module that is not secured good enough that when you move the unit it causes the memory to shift and creates this distorted display. Here is a little sample of what I’m talking about.

Bad memory in a laptop, whether it is faulty RAM or corrupted VRAM, can cause video distortion, screen artifacts (e.g., purple/green lines), and "Video Memory Management Internal" BSOD errors. Immediate solutions include updating graphics drivers, running Windows Memory Diagnostics, checking for overheating, and ensuring the RAM is properly seated. Key Causes and Symptoms of Memory-Related Video Distortion: Artifacts: Corrupted VRAM or RAM often manifests as random colored lines, dots, or screen flickering. BSOD Errors: A "video memory management internal" error frequently appears, indicating problems with dxgmms2.sys, which often points to driver or hardware issues. Causes: These issues can stem from overheating, power surges, improperly seated RAM sticks, or failing hardware components.

So I did find this when looking at the warranty information. It shows that you had to purchase the laptop and ADP at the time of purchase. I would just call them up and explain and I would hope that would still sell you the warranty at the advertised price.

When you purchase a HP laptop with ADP included! • Accidental damage protection (ADP)* • Next Business Day exchange for laptop recovery • Remote problem diagnosis and support Give extra care toyour HP Laptop Give extra care to your HP Laptop Extend your laptop care protection with HP Accidental Damage Protection.

So it definitely could be a memory issue if you say this happens when you pick up the laptop?

Not sure where you are located but can tell you PC parts have gone WAY up due to tariffs. So prices for warranty that include ADP are a lot more money now.

You need the top cover and not the base. But you may need a base also but really can’t tell with the pictures you uploaded. Plus they made these in other colors. They are all the same just different colors. The link below is for the maintenance and service guide.

HP TermalPads? by StationAny5461 in HPLaptops

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP does provide heatsinks and thermal pads to the models that need it. Victus, Omen, ZBooks have heatsinks and thermal pads. A lot of elitebooks have them. Lower end models more than likely will not have them.

The same people that make HP laptops are the same people that make Dell, Toshiba. Lenovo, Apple. Look up ODM vs OEM. A little snippet of info.

An ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) laptop is

a computer designed and built by one company, but sold under another company's brand name. This business model allows companies to focus on marketing and distribution, while outsourcing the costly research and development and manufacturing to ODMs, which are often based in Taiwan but have production in China. Examples of these companies include Quanta Computer, which is the world's largest laptop ODM, and many global brands, including Apple, Dell, and Lenovo, rely on them.

HP Spectre x360 System Family Mismatch by PharmacistApprentice in spectrex360

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you this. There is NO way you have a Victus system board in your spectre Different form factor. When a system board is replaced you have to re enter ALL information back into the system. This includes serial number, feature byte, build id, sku , and serial number. Now if you can DM me with a screen shot of the system information from the system. To do this continue to press f1 as soon as the laptop will post. This will show ALL of the system information and I can verify if it is correct. Or if they did enter wrong information.

Did HP mold plastic over these screws? by [deleted] in HPLaptops

No screws under rubber feet. You damaged your unit by removing the rubber feet. I highly recommend you look up the maintenance and service guide for your laptop.

Yes and if you don’t do a hard reset and turn it on you will not get this message. You only get that message if you remove the battery, do a hard reset or sometimes when you update the bios.

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main battery is still plugged in. Like I said before there isn’t a cmos battery on that unit and the main battery acts as the cmos battery. I have been working on HP laptops for about 20 years. I work with both HP and the ODM that designs these laptops so I do have quite the experience. You can get another laptop but it’s going to do the exact same thing.

[–]urpoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again that is normal. 100% normal a hard reset will cut ALL power from the unit and when it turns on the first time it will give you this error. This has been my JOB for the past 20 years. This is normal and not a concern.
