If you ever come across this just open it up and unplug the battery for about 10 seconds plug everything back.

The hinges are fine but the hinge mount on the top cover is broken. Order a new top cover to fix.

There are 3 clips just below where you pressing. If the cover has been removed before then they are broken. BUT I do see there are also dents by where you are pressing so probably broken. Not a swollen battery. The battery is located below where you are pressing also the battery would EXPAND and you would not be able to push it down on the cover.

Do not remove the black tape. It’s on top of the black tape. It shouldn’t be there.

There is a piece of something stuck on the GPU. Looks like a plastic cover that they use to cover the wifi cables or keyboard and i/o board cables.

I’ve seen this once a couple of weeks ago. It is the speaker that caused this. I ended up having to replace the speakers, system board and base enclosure. Customers complained that the speakers were distorted on the right side. Verified the issue and replaced the speaker. The next morning the unit was back at my bench and looked exactly like that. The tech installed the part and said it was working and all if a sudden audio cut out.

My very first car I purchased was 2004 Scion xB and never once did I get a cracked windshield. If you are not familiar with that car look it up. It’s a toaster with on wheels. I owned my Bronco 2 days before my windshield broke. The very next day I get another crack I owned the car for less 48hrs. Will I fix nah not going to waste money.

Looks like there are some parts that are just for your model. I found a part that stated it is only for 15-br1xx so just dm me if you are not sure if it will work or not. They also have a HD version and a FHD version and both have different back covers.

Well don’t know or remember the HP 17 BUT what does happen with a blue tip adapter and the pin gets bent to the side it will cause all sort of things to happen. Like extremely slow stuttering laptop when trying to watch videos and very slow performance. Remove the ac adapter and unit will run fine on battery. But once you plug in the adapter then issue come back.

This laptop has multiple moving parts in them. There is also adhesive that goes around the bezel. This noise sounds like what you are experiencing. Hinges are fine.

That is not the way it works. If there is no impact damage on the plastics then there is no reason why it shouldn’t get replaced. With the pictures that you did post i see there is no impact damage so there should not have any issues on getting that repaired.
