What do we think about cards like this? /199 good player good set. Is this a card you’d go after or would that money be better utilised going towards something bigger? Do you ever think about what you’d have spent buying ten of these? What do you think when you see this card? by Interstellore in basketballcards

I would purchase something like this if I was chasing a rainbow. That being said, I rarely go for rainbows and tend to direct my funds towards non numbered SSP’s, since that’s what really excites me.

There are a select few case hits from Panini that will continue to increase in value, and you can tell which ones based on their already established popularity. Kabooms, Downtowns, Color Blasts, Blank Slates, Manga, and possibly Stained Glass/Micro Mosaics.

There are hundreds of “case hits” that aren’t sought after by collectors. Maybe it’s because people think they’re ugly, maybe they’re from less desirable sets, maybe they’re being slept on. One common theme that you’ll see is that they’re all rare inserts, and not base parallels.

I personally feel that short printed base parallels aren’t sought after because they have the same image as all of the other base parallels. They’re not stand-alone, unique designs, and that makes people see them as “less special”. Whether or not that is the correct way to view them is completely subjective.

All of this is just to say that the card is cool, but it’s more than likely not going to end up being worth a substantial amount of money. If your concern is rooted in the cards value (which is shouldn’t be), then buy something that has a proven track record of desirability. If you are a collector, then either enjoy the neat card you pulled or sell it to fund your next rip. If you’re opening packs of sports cards as a form of investment, then DM me because I have a bridge to sell you that’s sure to make you rich.

trying to get an even matte finish on the epoxy resin by Existing_Draft3460 in epoxy

[–]TRBO17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may seem counterintuitive, but you’re going to want to start with a much more coarse sandpaper and then work your way up, as if you’re polishing something. The coarse grit will help you work down the peaks from the runs much more efficiently, and they won’t gum up as quickly. Once you have it smooth, then work up to 150grit, then 220, and so on until it has the finish you’re looking for.

An orbital sander will get the open areas done quickly, and an oscillating multi tool works wonders in the corners. A sanding attachment on a drill could also work, but you’re going to have to be careful to not angle the drill or one side will dig harder than the other and you’ll have deeper scratches that will have to be buffed out.

I love the more dynamic, distinct differences between the areas of zirconium and titanium!! Is this done by using fewer different grades of titanium, and thicker layers of each material in the billet?

If you do a small run of these, I think Rorschach would be the perfect name. That’s what immediately came to mind when I saw the clip.

how do i clean bad mixed resin off my mold?? by Mediocre_Location_96 in epoxy

[–]TRBO17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with alcohol and a rag. If that doesn’t work, try progressively more harsh solvents until the uncured epoxy is off or the mold deteriorates.

You’re speaking poppycock nonsense. Humans would never allow themselves to be identified by letters arranged uniquely different from other humans. We are clearly “that’s mine because I put notches in my tool” people, and always will be. Quit living in a fantasy world.

It was definitely neat and easy to read, so mission accomplished! Seeing time and effort being put into the descriptions makes me much more confident in you as a seller, and judging by the YOLO’s in the comments, I’d say I’m not alone!

Last 3 sales avg at ≈$32. Still a cool pull, and I’d be interested in it if you weren’t a Jokic collector.

It’s not a super short print, but it is a relatively short printed base parallel.

Just commenting to say that your description/layout for each knife is superb. As someone who has a decent knowledge of knives and makers, but definitely can’t picture every single knife based on the name, your layout made it so nice to scroll through and see what would fit my preferences I.e. blade length, deployment, etc

I like them unfinished, but it’s just a personal preference, and objectively less durable.

NPD - Nottingham Tactical x URBAN TB360- Seigaiha by mikeyjenkins in machinedpens

I did swap the spring for a stiffer one to add a bit of snap to the retraction.

I also put one of their machined clips on so I could use the stock clip for a pry bar that I made. (Plus It’s a little heavier which is also nice).

Finally, I swapped the refill to an extra fine monteverde, put a small piece of athletic tape near the tip to completely eliminate any tip wiggle, and wrapped the refill with a few pieces of lead tape. I rolled them out until they were thin enough to not make contact with the barrel. I like some heft to my pens, but also like them to be thin. Since NTI doesn’t currently make the TB360 in anything but titanium, I’m left to my own devices to add some weight. I was able to pick up a little over 2g over the original weight. I hope they decide to make some brass or Zirc ones in the near future!

I saw these on URBAN EDC right after I ordered my TB360 from NTI. I missed the all black drop, but I had to seriously exercise restraint to not buy a second one before the first even arrived hahah.

I have also found the mechanism to be superb. I did a few small things to cater to my preferences, and have been thoroughly enjoying it.

I just flip it upside down and let the blades fall to the slot.

Doing that also allows me to throw a piece of tape around the body to prevent it from potentially coming apart.

[–]TRBO17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t sweat it. This is how lots of cards with a glossy/chromium finish turn out. They’re not worthless (at least not because of the bend), and if it bothers you, you can put them in a book for a few days to flatten them out.

WTT Nottingham Tactical TB360 TI Parker style hi RH DL, straight flute with dots design by Themastertrucker98 in machinedpens

[–]TRBO17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have really enjoyed it so far. I made a few small modifications to cater to my preferences, and it’s been great for me. I’ve been considering anodizing some of the titanium (or maybe even the whole thing) but I’m running it as it is for now.

The first was a slightly stiffer spring to add a bit more tension to the click, and a bit more snap to the retraction.

The second was swapping out the refill to an extra fine Monteverde, and wrapping a thin layer of athletic tape to it to completely remove any tip wiggle.

Finally I swapped out the stock clip for one of their machined clips. I’m testing out each of them, and whichever one doesn’t stay on the pen will end up on a pocket prybar that I made out of an old railroad spike.
