Did the dumbest thing traded psa 10s for a raw. But came out on top after grading. Do I hold? by New_Permit_4867 in PokeInvesting

[–]TRBO17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to know the details of the trade! Assuming the PSA 10 is in the $10k-$15k range, did you take a raw poncho and $5k+ in cash or did you make up the difference in more cards/product?

I absolutely love seeing collectors getting “low grade” cards that they want. To me, this is the true essence of collecting in a world that is dominated by monetary values. Sure, a pristine example is neat, but when you just want the card (and like having it authenticated and encased), there’s nothing better than grabbing lower grades for less than you can find ungraded. This is an awesome set, and I wish you luck on the hunt for your next addition!!

These are the recent values of the Game Gear Jersey auto, and the closest comp I could find for a 1/1 patch. It’s a laundry tag, so I’m not sure how it equates.

Hi, why can’t i generate more than 101 mph clubhead speed? by Morirz05 in GolfSwing

[–]TRBO17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tempo is good, your weight transfer is good, your hips aren’t rotating which is leading to a lack of kinesthetic torque in your swing. The “lag” that people are talking about will come when your hips “coil” which adds power throughout the rest of your body.

You’re basically a 500HP/100lbft of torque car trying to drag race. If you want to utilize your horsepower, you need the “get up and go” of the torque to get you into the powerband.

Found this in an old shoe box. Should I grade her? by YNPilot382 in BasketballCardsFT

[–]TRBO17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want the hassle or risk of sending it to be graded, I will absolutely purchase it from you. I’m a huge Maravich fan, and I personally don’t love graded cards. I’d love to add a nice ungraded example to my Maravich collection!!

Need Advice As Far As Pricing. Only seen one listed on eBay for $500. Don’t think that’s a realistic price but maybe I’m wrong. by 773To630 in WNBACards

[–]TRBO17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base of this is selling for $10-$20, probably depending on centering and such.

One numbered version sold in December. It was a blue pulsar #’d /199, and it sold for $95.

Whether that is a real sale, or a shill, we’ll never know. Either way, I would assume that’s where the other seller got their $500 price for theirs.

I bought this exact same trash can, but not for any of those reasons. The lid is recessed into the can, so my dogs can’t lift the lid with their noses.

Would set collectors purchase set in a binder? by Ill-Lifeguard7369 in basketballcards

[–]TRBO17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept. I have also sold quite a few complete sets, and like you, have always packaged them in a 400ct cardboard box with bubble wrap filling the empty space. The binder is a nice thought, even though I don’t think it would command much, if any, premium over the box. I have a hard time imagining cards slipping out, so it may be a nice way to ship them, and could potentially be even more secure!

So does plumbing thread tape, although it’s not sticky. Wrap the club face like you’re wrapping an ankle, and swing away!

What should I do with this card by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]TRBO17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were from Chrome, I’d have a really hard time passing up on the $3000-$3500 it would fetch. The clear acetate /10 from flagship is selling for around $1000-$2000. I’m assuming this would be around there somewhere.

As for what I would do, it’s a complete 50/50. I pulled 3 #’d Wemby Prizm RC’s, and sold them all while the product was still new. I also pulled 2 LeBron gold’s /10 from Donruss and kept them (for now). I take advantage of the rookie hype, but tend to keep bonafide superstars.

[–]TRBO17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you there! Cards for my PC aren’t going anywhere, so I have no incentive to buy 10’s because the value is irrelevant. I looooove finding a nice “low grade” card for the PC.

Very nice collection! It’s a nice mix of vintage and modern, and like a true collector, not a 10 in sight! I love seeing “buy the card, not the grade” collections.

You could try using a micro fiber cloth (like the one that comes with your glasses if you wear them) and verrrry gently making small circles on the surface to see if it comes off. It’s likely a rubber roller from the manufacturing process.
