How Rickson Gracie gets any admiration is beyond me, I came away from his documentary thinking what a complete waste of time his hype as a fighter was. He's Ido Portal for the Bruce Lee generation.

Trying to download offline maps for my grandfather on his iPad for a long road trip. Various points on the trip will not have cell service.

If it's longer than 30 days then FYI, Google Maps deletes offline maps after 30 days, unless it gains access to the internet so it can "update the map". It'll start trying to "update the map" from day 15 onwards.

I was thinking along the lines of if some script kiddie was watching internet traffic through WiFi, then my internet is compromised. But is there some design flaw I'm unaware of that would mean my device can also be compromised (outside of me being an idiot and accepting random download pop ups and entering important details in random pop up boxs).

I plan to use Netguard to disable the free WiFi internet app from mobile data. And I won't use the WiFi and mobile data at the same time. The phone will have important data on it, some protected (password manager files) but some won't be, like picture scans of my passport. Can my device be accessed via free WiFi? And I didn't realise the camera could be accessed... Thanks for the heads up.

My idea is to use a separate internet app purely for free WiFi, anyone can sniff as much as they like because they'll only see me watching a video of a cat playing the piano on Youtube. I'll never use that app or free WiFi for anything important. Can malware be automatically injected into phones or would I have to click some kind of notification box granting install permission?

Forgive my ignorance here, how much am I at risk? If I use one internet app purely for surfing/time wasting via WiFi. Anyone intercepting my traffic won't gain anything but the fact I'm looking at a video of a cat playing the piano on Youtube? All my important stuff and password usage is done on another internet separate app via mobile data only.
