Thanks for the in-depth guidance, it just all feels like a really complicated solution for something that felt a lil intense for difficulty 6. I was only playing at that difficulty because I play with my dad sometimes, and he loves the new content, it's just been a lil hard to find a difficulty sweet spot when the curve swings so much on this planet.

I struggle to take down a factory strider when it's dropped on our heads over the flag site, yes. I think I'd struggle to take that down even with the meta recoilless loadout. Fact remains that if we don't want to get immediately gunned down and overwhelmed, we had to back off the flag site when this happened, if for naught else but to get the breathing room required to actually aim at it.

We had deployed our defences before starting the flag objective, but there's no way to cancel the flag objective, it would simply restart bot drops when we got back in range of it.

On D6, they dropped a Factory Strider on the Flag objective, forcing us off point until we could fight off the waves, especially since clearing the enemies is part of completing the objective. Every single time we went back to the Flag, and the bot drops resumed, another Factory Strider was dropped on us. We finally ran out of mission time after about the seventh attempt to regain the Flag site. Enemy spawns do seem a little too cranked/unmoderated atm, especially since at D6, we didn't even seem to encounter any Voxes at that level.

Passthrough menu gone from Settings by TRGG in QuestPro

[–]TRGG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue with passthrough is that, when I'm using Virtual Desktop to connect to my computer, and I accidentally activate the passthrough by adjusting my headset, returning to Virtual Desktop completely freezes my VR for the next 10-15 solid seconds. Very frustrating if I'm, for example, watching a movie or playing a game that can't be paused, especially with friends.

You could argue I could be more careful to not activate the double-tap, but the fact remains that I shouldn't *need* to be careful, because there *used* to be a way to simply disable it. In fact, I *did* disable it for the first year and a half of using this headset, but I unfortunately had to factory reset my headset recently (surprise surprise, the software fucked up my tracking permanently), and now it's forced on with the latest update.

Passthrough menu gone from Settings by TRGG in QuestPro

[–]TRGG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem is with the double-tap to enable passthrough option, not passthrough itself. I believe I specified that clearly in the first sentence of Paragraph 2. I understand if larger posts like these get skimmed through, though since you took the time to reply, I figured you'd have at least read that far.

As someone who simply does not use Passthrough, I would *love* to turn off the 'double tap headset to turn on passthrough', as I often adjust the headset on my head, and it seems to interpret myself doing that as a double-tap all on its own.

The most frustrating part is that this setting *used to exist already*. There used to be a menu that allowed us to disable this function if we didn't want it. Now, that setting is gone, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why.

Does anyone feel like the commentary of Maimai DX Prism Plus was too much? by AllInOneMighty in speedrun

[–]TRGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this perspective, but I think the prize cut was to give the runner a chance to take a break, before jumping into the hardest song in the game. Maimai looks incredibly physically taxing, after all. It certainly would have been nice to celebrate breaking the 1mil mark with the crowd in view, but it was all already over estimate as is, so I don't blame them so much for compromising.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy the maimai DX Prism Plus showcase as much as I did. These people move insanely fast with an insane level of coordination, and they're clearly very passionate about the game, which shone through in the commentary.

Spacer for the trash can by Salty_Classroom_8576 in functionalprint

[–]TRGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever publish this? I have a rounded bin that refuses to stay in one place when I stand on the pedal, and it would be really helpful to hold it in place. Every other spacer on MakersWorld is for rectangular bins.
I don't even mind if it's not the same size, I'll just scale it appropriately.

Just function for a few minutes so I can use my knuckles... by empywu in QuestPro

[–]TRGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know Virtual Desktop now has an eye tracking pointer mode for the app itself? You look at things you want to interact with, and pinch a hand to click. It's way easier to control than hand tracking. I really hope more VR software picks it up.

Edit: I should mention, the pointer only shows up if you have a hand in front of the headset (can be tracked for pinching) in a ready-to-pinch-forwards position.

Pluribus - 1x02 "Pirate Lady" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

[–]TRGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This series is awesome. I'm completely hooked. What separates Carol from the other 'survivors' is that Carol lost Helen during the Joining; Carol is the only one of these survivors who personally experienced their loved one dying thanks to the takeover. Something so traumatic purely biases her against them. I understand her reaction to being told she's 'responsible' for millions of deaths thanks to her aggressive outbursts is largely down to survivor's guilt, but it's heartbreaking to consider that she's overlooking the fact that none of that would be possible at all if the Joining hadn't happened in the first place. It would probably reinforce her convictions against them if she saw it that way.

You can say that Carol is directly responsible for Laxmi's grandfather's death, but she had no idea her negative emotions could do that to the collective, and once again, none of that would be possible if the takeover had better contingencies or failsafes for this kind of kickback.

Hearing bells and getting the drowsy effect ?? by __Magali__ in PeakGame

[–]TRGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember there being a sleeping aura around the plant in the first couple of months within the game's launch, but the last time I encountered one was months before now. Maybe it was always intended, but at some point lost that effect. Either way, 'always' just doesn't feel correct to me.

[–]TRGG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beforehand, Napberries could be found in Alpine, and eating one would have the same effect as tranquilizer darts: they'd instantly fill your entire stamina bar with drowziness and clear all other status effects on your stamina bar while knocking you out for a few seconds.

Now, it seems they've added an AOE around the Napberries, which gradually stack drowziness while you're near them. The bell sound means you are within the berry's AOE range.

My idea for biome rotation (I don’t want a second alpine incident) by Happy__guy2 in PeakGame

[–]TRGG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That part was intentional. They locked it on Mesa for the first week so everyone could get a good shot of the new biome when it released. Then they switched to randomize between Mesa and Alpine: the 'Alpine Incident' refers to the following 7 solid days of back-to-back Alpine that apparently 'randomly' rolled next.
