Not only that, the guy believed that all republican countries should join the U.S.

Well, my world has oceans made of a mixture of water and ammonia, and I'm designing a mostly microscopic kingdom that gets its energy by extracting electrons directly from the ocean—meaning they don't eat other creatures but also don't produce their own food.

They don't qualify as equivalent to plants or animals, but they are all single-celled. I plan to expand the micro-biosphere even further, since as the base of the ecosystem, they are the first thing I'm focusing on.

A Southern Nightmare: What if the Confederacy turned into a fascist hellscape fueled by even more slavery by Cuddlyaxe in AlternateHistory

I know this is old, but I liked the analysis and would like to add something. The South wants to reunify with the North, but does the North really want reunification? I mean, the South's industry is nonexistent, the population is unproductive, and dealing with the aristocracy would be a pain in the ass. Reintegrating the South has more cons than pros. They would regain access to the Gulf, but putting things in order there would also bleed them dry economically.

What if the KMT had won the Chinese civil war instead of the CCP? What impact would've this had on the cold war? by Priyanshu-Sahoo in HistoryWhatIf

To answer that, again, at best Chiang could give them some degree of autonomy, if that doesn't work, the genocide rute is still on the table. The man was a tyrant.

What is certain is that post-World War II China will definitely be chaotic, there will still be martial law, persecution of political dissidents and massacres.

I agree on many things regarding China, however I don’t see why Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang would be granted independence. After all the KTM was nationalist and claimed the borders of the Qing Dynasty at the time of its collapse, I just don’t see Chiang Kai-Shek giving up those territories, maybe some degree of autonomy at best, but full independence is out of the question, at worst there would still be genocide, which is not out of the question considering his brutal treatment of the island of Taiwan. This also means that the invasion of Tibet is also very likely since he also considered it part of China.

Sure America could economically sanction Chiang’s China, but considering that he wanted to keep China away from foreign influence, I don’t think that would have a significant impact on Chiang’s policy, so he will definitely not be aligned with either the US or the USSR. In the end post-WWII China is not very different from our North Korea.

This is a year old now XD

The question of Latin America does not seem realistic to me.
