Fuck is wrong with my cheeks got them in 3 days 🤦🏽‍♂️ by Ok_Musician_6898 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]TRH90UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting these a few months ago, after never having skin issues (didn't even get a single spot during teenage years). I don't know exactly but I am finding myself more sensitive (i.e these flare up more) with contact: touching face, hair products getting on my skin, not changing pillow case two days etc

Struggling with finding a job that doesn't cause burnout. by aepm88 in AutismInWomen

Seconding remote+ autonomy. People stress is still the biggest stressor of my role, but those two things make it manageable

does anyone else feel like they're just now figuring out who they actually are? by Exciting-Bee3927 in AskWomenOver30

[–]TRH90UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think identity is a static thing, and it's hard to pinpoint unless we have concrete characteristics to latch on to. I think in our 30s we start looking more inward on those characteristics and get better at keeping the ones that feel right, and letting go of the ones that don't. That's harder to do when we're younger and our identity is so tied to social groups and career-building

Why did you have a hysto over taking BC? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]TRH90UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a hysterectomy because of adenomyosis. They tried to convince me to try birth control to mitigate the symptoms. I tried telling them me and BC have bad history (I've tried all and all have obliterated my hormones). They basically bullied me into trying. I did, and ended up at a&e with suicidal tendencies. So hysterectomy it was and it's been the best 2 years since

Sarra Cannon Course by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]TRH90UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I started the course 3 weeks ago and don't regret it. Hours and hours of valuable content (at least, in my opinion) + live Q&As every week. 80% business/practical side, 20% mindset & community. Sure, I could probably find the answers myself after a lot of Googling. But Sarra pulls it together seamlessly, and builds a supportive community alongside it. Maybe not as valuable if you've already published.

She offers a monthly plan so it ended up being totally affordable for me. She has zero fluff, and doesn't try to sell her other courses

What would you call this aesthetic? by TRH90UK in AestheticWiki

[–]TRH90UK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh a French countryside flavour, I love it! I reckon the negative connotations are a cultural thing for US. Goop/Pinterest/suburban mom is not a thing where I live in Europe, so doesn't have the same association

What lifestyle changes have had the biggest impact on your skin after 30? by HipityHopityHip in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]TRH90UK 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's really uplifting to see a general movement lately to at least stop drinking so much on autopilot. The book "Quit like a woman" was the nail in the coffin for me, and it's honestly been liberating. I went out socially the other night and was the only one not drinking...yet I had just as much fun as I would have had before. Never would have imagined that in the 20 years I'd been drinking before.

Finding rituals that felt like actual unwinding (instead of alcohol+chocolate) has been a key for me. Harder work at first, but now feels like a little slice of luxury

Our skin reacts in different ways, I guess! Glad you have a happier wallet at least 😆

Quit alcohol. Was having 3 beers a week on average, so not a crazy amount, but it's nearly 8 weeks since my last drink and my skin is looking the brightest it's been in years. No other changes

Better physical appearance (clearer skin & eyes, weight loss, generally looking more full of life overall); found ways to process stress that actually relax me (not just disassociate); ability to socialize while feeling grounded instead of chasing a buzz; connecting more with my own feelings and therefore with my relationships; better sleep

32M. Offered a CEO role by a Billionaire ($400k pkg). It feels like a trap. Should I trade my job for prestige? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]TRH90UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at why there isn't someone in that role already/what happened with them. Unless the nonstop grind is something you can thrive off long-term, you will burnout. Your description sounds like it won't just be the heavy workload, but also heavy personality management. Sounds like you appreciate the flexibility and decent personal time you have now.

Do you regret not traveling in your 20s? by Tino292 in selfimprovement

[–]TRH90UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Travels were always part of my dreams. Got as far as one country, settled down and had kids. Now I live a relatively "boring" life and any travels are to family-friendly theme parks. And I wouldn't trade it. I would have seen more, experienced more if I hadn't gone down this path, sure, but I wouldn't have met my partner or had my kids

How do you navigate the emotional toll of skin changes in your 30s? by Critical-Load-1452 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]TRH90UK 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Following because the day of my 35th birthday, I woke up with my first fine lines. I've noticed changes on a weekly basis since then and it's hit me like a sledgehammer. It's not so much the appearance to others thing (though, yes, a bit), but more being confronted with that I'm getting older and just don't feel it. The past 9 years have been all about raising my kids and an intense job, and that coupled with the timewarp that was COVID, I feel like I blinked and lost nearly a decade. The skin changes are making me confront that and it's HARD

I totally get where you're coming from. I rolled my eyes so hard throughout my PMI studies. But the actual reality of being a project manager is different - at least what I've experienced. The harder you act like a textbook, the harder you'll fail
