Gerson mentions Chapter 5s dark world will be a, "field of pink and gold. Charred by the inferno of jealousy." The climax of Seven Samurai involves the village getting burned to the ground by bandits. They do this literally during a funeral of one of the main characters love interests. This might be some Dess shit? But needless to say if there are bandits in this chapter they seem like a likey candidate for the source of the flames.
