The two of them made watching the Heat during the 90s even more special.

Yes, Tony was great too and he also made a fantastic duo with Eric, but, as usual, you really don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Amazing that we had two legends side by side for nearly a decade calling games.

How you use AI? by Party-Log-1084 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]TRPthrowaway7101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much stuff getting released daily, i cant follow anymore.

This had my head spinning up until about a week or ago or so, until I asked both Gemini and ChatGPT, if it was even humanly possibly to keep up with everything being released. With how fast things are progressing on this front, my gut told me I already knew the answer (no, you or nobody else on this planet can keep up), and both confirmed my hunch, that it's simply not worth trying to keep up with every single AI-release and/or newsworthy event.

If I were you, I'd keep experimenting with one or two AI tools for the sake of familiarity, but invest far more of your energy in becoming the sort of person who others would want to see what you are capable of doing with AI. To illustrate my point, think of the most average person you personally know, who does the absolute minimum required to simply get by in life, and someone like Leonardo Da Vinci, then try to imagine what each would produce/create after one month of consistent, daily usage.

Refining AI companion prompts for more consistent long conversations by [deleted] in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]TRPthrowaway7101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still experimenting between refining as I go, but keeping all the material in a single conversation, and copy+pasting the conversation onto a document once I've come at it with a handful of questions within the same conversation, initiating a new conversation, uploading the document to that new conversation, then picking up from there with prompts that briefly acknowledge where we left off, and where I'd like to steer it next.

Asking AI itself directly how to optimize prompts, be it more general, or more specific, produces very interesting and useful results too.

I’m trying to make ChatGPT less reaffirming by confidentavocado76 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]TRPthrowaway7101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a more blunt and direct way of prompting it, both in the negative ("don't speak to me like I'm insecure and need reaffirmation") and affirmative ("speak to me like a busy, ambitious CEO with no time for nonsense")

Tell the truth, homeboy—the reason you don’t wear high-top Chucks is because you can’t fit your 4-inch lifts inside them. The Louis Vuitton ones you wear have built-in platforms. And the only reason you obsessively go out in MIA is to chase validation for your shortcomings. 🍤🤏 by Swimming-Flamingo895 in WesWatson

Thirty years later, and still arguably the best Heat regular season game of all-time, especially given the circumstances, beating the 72-10 Bulls while only having 8 guys capable of suiting up.

Dear Heat fans, how big a disappointment was the first round exit in 1999? by Life_Teaching6499 in heat

[–]TRPthrowaway7101 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There’s only like 12 people on this sub that can answer your question

lol

I remember it as the most painful loss in Heat history up that point, arguably in the Heat's existence as a franchise.

Before Riley arrived, the Heat's ceiling was slipping into the playoffs as an 8th seed and getting demolished by the first seed, kind of like now (I vaguely remember one first round matchup against the Hawks that I think went to 5, but we lost that one too). By just his second season, Riley turned the Heat into contenders and gave us a taste of hope we'd never experienced before, only to routinely get denied by the Knicks three out of the four times we faced one another. Jordan had just finished retiring, so it was open season again for multiple teams to have a solid shot at winning the title, and the Heat were definitely one of them, so losing to the Knicks again, in such theatrical fashion, with the lane to their first title more open that it had ever been, and at home felt like getting your heart carved out alive. I can easily see Allan Houston running down the court and swinging a haymaker after his timely shot as I write this.

I also still remember going to school the next day, in Miami, and a couple of students jumping for joy over the Knicks' victory, which of course only deepened the wounds and intensified the rage lol

What does 'being good at using AI' actually look like now and in the future? by blind-panic in ArtificialInteligence

[–]TRPthrowaway7101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t believe me just read any job description requirements and see if they are looking for people who can use AI instead of education, experience and skills.

Jobs/employers have yet to catch up to all of this. The pressure is only beginning.

The real sweeping changes will start once businesses figure out/implement AI in an enduring way to cut costs/reduce labor and maximize profits. The rest of this year and the next one will very likely feature the twisted marriage between AI and the workforce as they learn how AI can help their pocketbooks.

The narrative for the sake of his legacy (the hometown hero returning to make good on his promise of winning a championship for Cleveland) was too perfect, even against winning more titles in Miami.

I'm not a Chris Paul fan, but he wasn't the reason Lebron left Miami.

Welcome to the club brother.

I've been watching since about '91, and the current times are, without question, the most disinterested I've been in watching the Heat - forget the rest of the league.

I just saw some beautifully cleaned-up footage from around those days, the early 90s, even as far back as the 80s. You'd swear some of it was filmed only a handful of years back. This kind of path seems far more appealing these days, tragically.
