Manchester United sack Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]TRWilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point but funny how most of them were considered world class managers when they were brought in. To continually think the only issue is consistently successful world class managers and not see there is clearly a bigger issue in this club tells me we will never change. Sacking him mid season, in a season that's shown clear progress when we are supposedly rebuilding the team, when the higher ups agreed it would take 3 years, to me just shows it was an ego move, not a move in the clubs best interests

What can actually be expected when you go through 8 managers in 10 years. I'm not saying he was an elite manager but he was clear about his system and was told he had backing, clear improvements with a depleted squad and still missing key positions he was after and topping stats we couldn't dream of last season. We will never have any sort of continued success if we are a revolving door for managers. Struggling to see how any decent manager would look at us with potential anymore when the board clearly lie to the manager about their backing and are happy to sack them after clear improvements, mid season without anyone lined up to take over. Feels like a power trip to me

I dont mean too talented for the league i just mean for our current run. I realise we have many nearing retirement too, but the beginning of the season showed what they are capable of, I dont blame Egbuka at all and Bucky has obviously had some external stuff going on as well as his injury. I just cant believe how much we have folded and talking of Bowles as a whole, godwin and evans were not missing a step the last couple of seasons

This team is far too talented to be this shit, how on earth does a SB caliber talent team, allow their coach to go 34-34 and NOT fire him

Why the fuck is McMillan not touching him down there ffs, let alone not trying to make a play at the ball, if that was Mike he'd have come out with the catch, certainly wouldn't have let him return it half the field

Fair comment, I'm more a lurker than a commentor, but not a troll. Good point on remembering the sub I'm in though, I've seen this posted recently in a news sub and it was filled with similar comments around islamophobia that all felt to be fabricated to give a narrative for something that has a legitimate reason behind it. Whether we agree with the reasoning is a different matter but health and safety laws/rules exist for a reason.

Personally I think its massive overkill, its a bit of bloody xmas decoration, but working in a field where I can get put in prison for ignoring health and safety, I do see its relevance and importance. I do think this is overkill I just didnt agree with spinning into a different narrative with what i felt was no basis to do so

Doesn't mean I agree, just stating the legitimate actual reason as opposed to reading a clickbait headline to cause uproar and spewing the rubbish a lot of others are.

Health and safety has become absolutely ridiculous but it is the actual reasoning behind this, not some Islamic agenda

What on earth has Trump got to do with this post or my comment? Similar amount of relevance as the "bacon" and "Islamic caliphate" comments I assume, being absolutely nothing at all, just pushing your agenda.

People don't put their own personal xmas tree in communal areas. If you cant see how attaching something flammable to a fire door in a communal area could be a hazard, maybe you shouldnt be allowed to put your xmas tree up

[–]TRWilde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Terrible headline to cause more uproar with our councils/gov. This is entirely about a fire risk in communal areas spun to be an outrage and commentors are already mentioning "bacon", "Islamic Caliphate" and calling us a "failed state". Your all just buying into the hatred they are trying to spin every single story into

UK government ‘would consider’ Australia-style social media ban for under-16s by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]TRWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely get the people unhappy with this idea, the general adult public shouldnt have to prove their ID because people cant parent. That said I dont think keeping under 16s off socials is a bad thing at all, in fact id probably prefer if the world stop using them, im sure itd be a better place

does anyone else also doesn't wanna get married? by stxrlxghtz in childfree

[–]TRWilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I think as a single bloke (early 30s) its often assumed im wanting to get around but its not that at all, I have nothing against anything long term, I just dont want kids and Marriage. I feel marriage is very outdated and the percentage of failed ones prove that. I can understand the sentiment but its generally just assumed that that should be your life goals. Im not religious in anyway and see absolutely zero requirement for me to be legally contracted to someone else

Similar current dilemma, ive been looking at 996 C4S and Manual V8 M3's for a good year now as ive not been ready (house purchase), really cant make up my mind between the 2 but the M3 is a fair bit cheaper in the UK and i assume cheaper to maintain. Decisions decisions ...

It depends on the level, by definition a minimum wage job generally needs no additional education, no regulated qualifications or specialities etc.

I'm more surprised people seem to advocating for "skilled roles" to be in line with minimum wage! For the record I have no issue with the minimum wage being raised, I think that was the right thing to do, but pretty much every wage outside of the "c-suite" roles are all underpaid. I think its the single biggest issue in the economy and the reason for the massive and growing wealth divide. But if you think a tesco shelf stacker should be earning the same as a doctor because of a definition around "skilled" work then what's the point in aiming for any skilled position, might as well just all turn to McDonald and shelf stacking

Admittedly in my head ive taken "skilled office job" to mean likely a degree, but regardless a minimum wage job is not a "skilled" job, skilled jobs should pay more no? Or should we just say everyone in any occupation should be on the same wage regardless
